“Excellent value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

Hotel is well located on the river and just a few minutes walk from the old town and the cathedral. It also has parking which is great if you're travelling by car. Our room which was on the top (8th floor), was very spacious and had a great roof terrace. Hotel seemed very popular but well kept and clean. Restaurant offered good choice and again was good value. Staff too were friendly and helpful. Overall the style is modern with the odd twist. Based on our expereince (admittedly only a one night stay) would definitely look out in future for other hotels in the Silken chain.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms have terraces

Situation is excellent for all the sights of Burgos. Very well placed for cafe´s and bars.
Secure parking facilities (underground) and easy access to Motorways if continuing south through Spain. We also enjoyed a really good buffet breakfast. Staff on reception speak excellent English and are very helpful. Would stay there again!

Very charming modern place, with very helpful staff. I got a beautiful room (though rather darkly paneled) with a lovely view. The buffet breakfast could have had better choices of dishes.

The hotel's location and decor is very nice. The room was well-designed and clean, and temperature control was perfect. The bathroom was clean and well-designed too.

The breakfast food choices were VERY limited.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2011

We recently travelled up from the south of Spain heading towards the UK and travelled to Burgos in the first Day a nice easy drive. We stayed at the Gran Teatro hotel which was very central in this delightful city in northern Spain. The reception welcome was first class and the booking in process straightforward. Our room was very clean and modern with all mod cons. We enjoyed a lovely dinner which was reasonably priced at 19 euros p/p and had a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 deserts with a glass of wine and some bread included. Only one criticism and that is a typical Spanish thing "Cold Plates" for the food why do they do that? It meant that an otherwise faultless meal was slightly marred. The hotel has secure underground parking available at extra cost. Everyone in the hotel was very friendly and we enjoyed our stay. Next time I am in Burgos I will definately stay again in the Gran Teatro Hotel.

Very nice hotel if you are in the premier rooms. The one thing thats let it down is its resterant. Very very expensive for not a lot of food. Also the staff need training in customer services. Would I stay here again? NO

I loved this hotel! It's modern, tastefully decorated, quiet, roomy, comfortable and the staff are very friendly.

We'd been on the road all day and it was a pleasure to arrive here and be greeted by the friendliest and most helpful person behind the desk. He gave us a choice of two room configurations since they weren't sure of which one we'd like and engaged in a friendly conversation with us.

There were three of us so an extra bed was brought into a double that was more than ample in space. The extra bed was a regular one on wheels and just as comfortable as the others. Adding it to the room didn't impede the space at all. The room also had a nice sized flat screen TV.

We had breakfast there the next morning and even though it was a bit expensive it was worth it because it was a wonderful and ample buffet with a great variety of various breakfast type foods. And, since the room was so reasonably priced, we didn't care.

Personally though, my favorite thing about our stay here was that our room had one of the windows which they illuminate in pink light at night. It was liking our own rose-colored night light.

It's also close enough to the plaza mayor to walk there yet distant enough for a nice quiet stay. When the walkway over the river, across from it is complete, it will be lovely addition.
