“Lots of history, loved the cloisters”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

The downstairs cloisters had interesting carvings (I really like photographing that kind of sculpture) while the upstairs cloisters had great Mujedar architecture touches.

“My favourite attraction in Toledo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

This was by far my favourite place that we visited whilst in Toledo. The courtyard is beautiful with orange trees and flowers and the carvings are incredibly detailed, every time you look you see a detail that you had not noticed before. The wooden ceiling in the upper lever of the courtyard is again beautiful and due to the fact there were few visitors present, extremely peaceful.

The stone work in the main church is again very impressive. Having visited may churches on my visit to Spain I would say that for detail and beauty none of the other churches compared, especially when it comes to the courtyard. The beauty of this building is on the inside so take some time to pop in and look around.

“Beautiful and worth seeing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

This monastery is one of my favorite places in Toledo. The courtyard is lovely and very peaceful. The monastery and architecture is a great example of the different cultures in Toledo.

“Monastery Visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

Toledo beautiful though it is, sometimes with so much to see relating to religion it gets a little overkill and you think to yourself oh no not another beautiful building!

“Worth the walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

This is an underappreciated and beautiful late Gothic church and cloister. I enjoyed the walk from Plaza Zocovoder through the increasingly narrow streets to this wonderful building. The church is one of my favorite in Spain, both as the original intended burial place of the Catholic Kings, and because of the wonderful Gothic details. The church feels much more open and airy than most Gothic churches and the alter is marvelous. The cloister is very peaceful and green after the heat of a Toledo summer day.
