We stayed two nights in this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was clean and spacious and had a nice view overlooking the river. If you are lucky, there is some free parking on the road in front. The hotel has a lovely dining room and reading area, and the buffet breakfast was superb- our best in Spain. The hotel is located on the edge of the old town, but only a five minute walk away- all uphill of course. We would most certainly return to this lovely little hotel. For restaurants, we enjoyed the restaurant in Hotel Del Cardenal so much that we went back the next evening.

We spent two nights in Toledo and chose this hotel after reading many reviews on TripAdvisor. This hotel was quite memorable for many reasons. We stayed in room #1 (up two or three stairs and across from the front desk.) It was huge! The master bedroom had a large bed, a small desk, TV, ample closet space, and a full bathroom. Attached was a small living area. In addition to a couch (which likely converted into a bed) and a chair, there was a desk and a chest that held another TV. The living area also had another large closet and a 3/4 bathroom. Needless to say, the room was quite comfortable. Although our room overlooked a small turnaround that was also a bus stop, the street was very quiet. Also, even though we were close to the front desk and small dining area, we never heard any noise. The breakfasts were quite good, with a variety of cereals, meats, cheeses, pastries, juices, and fruit. The staff was quite friendly and accomodating at all times. I also appreciated having access to a computer in the lobby area. There's limited free parking in front of the hotel. We weren't lucky enough to find a place out front, but were satisfied to put our rental car in the paid parking below the hotel. We had some difficulty finding the hotel, but a friendly local police officer helped us after we discovered we were driving in circles. The hotel is at the bottom of a fairly steep hill, which some may find daunting. However, there was also a railing alongside the buildings up the hill, which helped our ascent and descent. Because the bus stopped outside the front the hotel, I believe those who would have trouble navigating the hills could choose the bus as an easy alternative.

  • Liked — The size of the room and the atmosphere
  • Disliked — The trek up the hill to the main part of the center city

We drove to Toledo and were pleased to find this hotel in the old part of the city. It is easy to find and has free parking (which is amazing). Leave the car and walk the city as driving in Toledo is for locals in smart cars only! The good news is that you can easily walk anywhere in the old city from here.

The hotel has a fabulous view and the rooms were comfortable, the staff friendly and everyone spoke good english. Our only complaint was the noise from a student group on tour, however we had our trusty earplugs with us and slept like babies.

  • Liked — Easy walk to anywhere
  • Disliked — Non-smoking rooms not available

Recently stayed 3 nights at this small, pretty, fairly new hotel. It is in a good location if you are arriving by car as it is in the southern end of the old historic town (Old Jewish quarter) accessed by a modern wide road and has its own secure garage.

Both these features are essential if you have your own car as negotiating the old town would require not only an excellent map and map reader but advanced driving skills!

There is limited free parking in front of the hotel but the three nights we were there none of the cars moved (presumably residents?) and so would not rely on this. We had to use the garage but at least it guaranteed a parking place on our return when we drove out of town on a few occasions (views of Toledo from the 'ring road' are a must-see).

The down side of the location is the 15 minute up hill walk into the main part of the town (and the main tourist attractions). It was very tiring for fairly fit people so maybe not recommended for the elderly or infirm or children. The bus service appeared to be erratic at best too.

The staff we came across were very pleasant and helpful and check in was smooth and efficient.

Our room was a standard room and was quite small and spartan. However, it had a/c, a minibar and tiny TV. It was clean and in good condition. The bathroom was similarly small and we were amazed at how clever the design was in fitting a four piece bathroom suite into what was not much larger than a broom closet. It too was clean and in good condition but they were rather mean with the thin, small towels.

Breakfast was extra on our good value room rate and was a well stocked and varied cold buffet. The breakfast room was rather cramped though and over the weekend we stayed there were queues for tables, some guests utilising the small lounge area to sit and eat their breakfast - it all got rather messy. Come Monday however, it was less crowded and far more relaxed.

This is a good value option if you don't mind steep walks and a slightly remote and thus quiet location (and have a car). But I would recommend going for a larger superior room.

We had dinner at Meson Aurelio (recommended in most guide books) but don't bother. It was expensive, very mediocre and had no atmosphere what so ever. We did eat at a restaurant called Locum which was very good indeed and one called 24 which if anything was even better. Both were expensive though.

Stayed one night-May 23. Nice room, very clean, and a good breakfast in the morning. As the other poster mentioned, close to the local bus and on street parking can be found. Staff was very pleasant. We would stay here again and recommend to friends.
