“Strategic and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

The hotel is perfectly located, close to everything you want to see in Toledo but just outside of the main tourist routes. Street noise is minimal. Rooms are small, but comfortable. The terrace is a real asset: beautiful views over the city. If you want a substantial breakfast, the hotel is a good deal; if you just want coffee and a muffin/pastry, then cafes are a better bet. It's probably quietest on the top floor (the walls and floors/ceilings are thin), although room 303, where we stayed, is next to the staircase to the terrace, so you hear people coming down after midnight (even though the terrace is supposedly closed after about 10 PM). Room 302 is probably the best: it's the largest room on the top floor, and the most insulated from noise. The staff was very good, although a bit minimalist. There are a lot of tourist traps in Toledo, but we found excellent if unspectacular meals at Afileritos 24, in the calle of the same name.

Room Tip: It's probably quietest on the top floor (the walls and floors/ceilings are thin), although room...

I have no problem recommending this hotel.
It was clean, quiet, staff was very friendly, and the bed was nice and firm. Also the roof top deck lent to meeting a few fellow travelers also enjoying the view and taking photos at night time.

Also, the main consideration for me is that I want to be able to drive to the hotel and park my car. Yes, you can do that here too! Fair warning though, the streets are extremely tight. I had a small 4 door car (think Ford Fiesta size approximalety) and we had to pull in the rear view mirrors along the way to gain some valuable inches. If you have a larger car, I would think twice about driving it up these medieval streets. Our GPS brought us right to the front door, by the way.
The location was great, a short 2 block or so walk to the cathedral, and frankly this was the nicer part of the tourist district.

The only thing lacking was a restaurant but you could easily walk less then a block and have a handful to choose from.
Another fair warning, the coffee maching in the lobby only doled out about 2 ounces of coffee. Given the 2 euro cost, I would pass on it. Apart from the coffee machine, I would highly recommend staying here.

Dear customers,
Thanks for taking your time to review Hotel Santa Isabel Toledo. We are glad to know that your stay has been pleasant in our facilities and have been comfortable. We are located in the old town, the hotel has a private garage and also have the ability when full to go to a nearby public in which they will charge 14.00 euros as hotel guests (the hotel costs EUR 12.00 per day) I do not think I understood well the price of the machine is 1.00 by drinking coffee (not 2.00 euros as you point out) Thanks for everything, encourage and help us continue to improve our customers.
Kind regards,
best regards,
Lourdes Menchero

I stayed here for 1 night in May. It took a bit of walking to first find this hotel (and then to find it again at the end of the day - Toledo is confusing!), but I liked that it was tucked away in a quiet street a short distance from the Cathedral, in the historic centre of the city. I'd hoped for a single room, but I ended up with a double on the ground floor, facing the street, right next to the elevator. I was concerned that this set up would be noisy, but the hotel and street were very quiet and I slept well. The room was clean with plenty of space and nice amenities. The wifi was reliable. The front desk staff was helpful. The breakfast included in the price of the room was basic. The high point of the hotel (literally and figuratively) was the roof-top patio, which offered a great view of the Cathedral and Alcazar. Staying at the Hotel Santa Isabel was a good way to experience the historic centre.

We stayed in the Hotel Santa Isabel in April 2014.

The hotel is literally a short stones throw from the magnificent cathedral of Toledo.
The Santa Isabel is labelled as a two star but we found that the amenities we had equalled those
of many three stars we have stayed in.

We had a superior room which was huge with three windows and two Juliet Balconies and views of rooftops. the interior of the hotel is built around a courtyard - now enclosed- and has many of the authentic features of the building still.

this hotel is spotlessly clean throughout. there is a rood terrace for views out over the city.
Staff here are some of the friendliest and most helpful we have met on our travels and go out of their way to be helpful. In the middle of the city it was so easy to go out for the day and be 'in' the city and not have to walk miles.

Location is very short walks to the Juderia - Alcazar - Plaza Zocodover - and even down to the
river to walk around the outskirts to see the walls and the lovely bridges over the Rio Tajo.

The only downside was the breakfast. They served us actual toast and tea and we would have preferred local breads.
Great hotel in a great location.

Room Tip: try for a superior room as they are very large and sunny.

The perfect location, although tricky to access! Just trust in your sat nav and keep your nerve.! Great to have secure parking which was organised by phone on the morning of our arrival. The general ambiance is one of cool elegance the atrium / courtyard charming, and the lift welcome. The sense of the past almost palpable. Our room - 302 was fine, great view, A/C, comfy beds every thing you needed in terms of toiletries and so on. The roof terrace was a real bonus, on our first night we sat up there watching the swifts and the sunset with some lovely American visitors. On day two after feeling El Greco'd out we took bread cheese and a bottle of wine up there, a wonderful end to a stay in a magical city. PS The bar at the end of the road - just down from the Europa? Hotel was lovely - a great welcome and a good value for money meal.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Santa Isabel. The rooms are impeccably clean, well appointed and the staff is courteous and helpful. Some on the staff speak English though don't expect everyone to have that same ability. The breakfast is okay and the staff a little too serious but, at the same time, they are very efficient and the food sustained us until the afternoon. As many others have noted, the rooftop terrace is a pleasure for sitting with a glass of wine and watching the sunset over the beautiful ancient city!

Room Tip: Room 114 has two balconies and a beautiful view of the cathedral. They are not big enough for sittin...

Great location, within walking distance to everything, great staff, great rooms. Only negative was there was no air conditioning or fans in bedrooms which will prove difficult in the summer because there was poor ventilation.

Dear customers,

Thank you for your comments regarding your stay at Hotel Santa Isabel Toledo. They are great for us ayuda.Estamos located in the old town near the cathedral and all the monuments for this reason the streets are narrow and in cities such as Toledo features. Because of this situation our garage is small only 14 places but very useful for many customers. Thanks for your attention. We would like to see them again on a future stay at our hotel. Best regards.
