We had just gotten off an international flight and driven to Toledo and were absolutely and delightfully surprised at the up-scale feeling of this wonderful hotel. The reception staff was very efficient and helpful and the rooms were spacious and quite lovely. The delicious breakfast was frosting on the cake. This hotel definitely rivals the famous Parador.

Room tip: rooms over-looking the old town were special

Nice friendly hotel with great views of Toledo. What a city.
Rooms are comfortable but beds are not like all AC hotels. The mattress is nothing great. Bathrooms are good size. TV is small for room size.
Check in and check out was quick and friendly.

Our room had a terrace with an absolutely breathtaking view of the old city of Toledo, where we enjoyed some wine and market purchases from the city, then watched the sun set after a hot afternoon exploring Toledo. The room was nicely furnished with all the extras, but the internet worked only sporadically. I am Platinum with Marriott, so did not make a big deal about the internet, however, if I had to pay for it, I would not have been happy.
There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel, which was convenient, and only shared by the hotel staff after many questions were asked. Some of the staff can speak English, some cannot. Having a bus schedule would have been helpful, as we found out later that it does not depart the main square, but rather up the street and around the corner from the square.
The restaurant was not open on a Monday at all, or the bar. Took a lot of convincing to get some ice, but they came through after making a trip to the front desk. No breakfast with the room night, different deal than most ACs.
The views were wonderful, the bed, so, so, but well appointed room, so will still recommend.

Room tip: Ask for the back of the hotel, a room that faces the Old City of Toledo.

We booked here because of the Marriott name and were very disappointed. The room itself was perfectly nice with views over the valley.

However, if we'd had a room on the side with no views we would not have been at all happy as the service and facilities were very average and came across almost as exploitative- relying on the location rather than attempting to create a great hotel experience.

There was no internet access in the rooms - we had to sit in the lounge to access the internet which was a real shame as the only thing the place had going for it was the view from our room.

The lounge had a bar which didn't serve any drinks and was unstaffed. The hotel details listed a restaurant but this was only open for breakfast while we were there. The only food available were a couple of sandwiches and salad packs in a fridge in the lounge. There was no bottled water in our room and no coffee making facilities either in the room or in the lounge.

There was no attempt to offer us advice when we checked in, re places to go for dinner, how to get to into town or anything else that a tourist would obviously need to know. We were given a map but only when we asked.

The breakfast was equally uninspiring and rather mean with no hot dishes offered - just a few cold cuts and some pineapple pieces. Nothing was bad, just the basics in order to say they were offering some sort of breakfast.

The staff were pleasant enough when asked a question but were not proactive and could do with some training in customer service, anticipating needs and quality control.

The hotel management needs to ensure that what's on offer on paper matches the reality. They might cater better for groups but let their customers down if the same quality isn't on offer at slower periods. It really does leave a nasty taste in the mouth.

All in all, a disappointing experience and we'll be very wary after this of expecting quality just because of the Marriott name.

Just been here for one very short day and experienced the meeting rooms and restaurant so I can't talk about the rooms however I am really interested in coming back. Restaurant is serving typical Spanish food but with a great view overlooking Toledo's city walls and landscape. The food is good, not a delicious treat but good both on the fish and meat. Staff was friendly and since I was on a business conference I can't really know how expensive or inexpensive it was. I was also curious to try out the rooms. Maybe for a next visit...
