“Lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014 via mobile

This hotel is very good for the ferry ports in Santander. The rooms are very clean and the staff are very helpful. We enjoyed our stay we booked in for another night for our return crossing back to England. A good restaurant recommended by the owner of the hotel.

We regularly drive to Santander to catch the Brittany Ferry to Portsmouth. We have an eight hour drive to Santander so timing and overnight accommodation has been a problem for us. No more. This charming boutique hotel is ideal for a short stay and we will certainly use it again.
We were very late arriving (it was 1 am!) but Pilar was waiting to greet us and show us to our room. We stayed in the Tokyo room which is not overly big, but nevertheless is well-equipped and comfortable.
Breakfast is a help-yourself affair but the choice is good and Michele is on hand to help, advise and generally assist.
Based on the recommendations here, we have already booked a second visit as an overnight break on our southbound journey in January next year.

We liked the web site for this hotel when we booked our stay, but we loved the hotel even more when we stayed there. The proprietors renovated the old house that has now become a chic, modern, yet incredibly cozy and welcoming hotel. It's a small place with only 8-10 rooms (which are roomy, light, and airy, very comfortable bed), and the owners take great pride in the place. They were extremely helpful and accommodating for all of our needs (from umbrellas to wonderful local dinner recommendations to ensuring we had everything we needed in our room). A wonderful, simple breakfast buffet is included in the very reasonable price of the room, and the hotel is only steps away from Santander's beach. Out of 3.5 weeks in France, N. Spain, and Portugal, this was my favorite hotel, hands down. My husband and I can't wait to come back and stay again!

Room Tip: We stayed in Paris, the bigger of two rooms on the top floor. We saw room Tokyo which was equally ni...

We chose this hotel mainly due to the high recommendations written by other reviewers on Tripadvisor and we were not disappointed. It was a gem in every sense of the word. Location great, parking free in front of hotel.Very easy to find. Access by bus to city centre quick and easy.Welcome very friendly, staff very informative about the city, what to do & where to go.Good eating places and bars nearby.Room decor very fresh and modern Bathroom great. Lots of attention to detail. The room smelt wonderful.Breakfast was included in room price, buffet style, good selection.
Only negatives, pillows not good and bath towels too small and thin.

We stayed one night when we arrived on the Brittany ferry from Portsmouth and were so impressed that we made a reservation for the 2 nights before our return to England after our trip to the Mediterranean. The refurbishment of the building is to a very high standard as are the furnishings and decoration. The proprietors were charming and very helpful. Its just a shame that it has no restaurant or car park.

Nice location everything within easy walk..sea front literally at the bottom of the street provides a leisurely stroll..
Parking is on the main street we arrived 4.30 and parked very near..access is via 5- 7 steps something to consider is you have mobility issues..Also the rooms where we stayed are via a staircase and the modern interior doesn't have a hand rail- best option would be ground floor
Staff were most welcoming and friendly having information on restaurants/bars etc
We stayed in the PARIS room which was clean and spacious..nice modern feel good choice of colours (my wife informed me)
It is mentioned that there isn't a view and to be fair thats true..rooftops and other houses are quite near..However noise and intrusion wasn't an issue which was impressive considering the location.. The bed was comfortable..the room also has a sofa bed - this is quite nosiy to sit on!
Bath/shower is small and is difficult to enter/exit no hand rails.... basins are trendy
Breakfast was a delight nice choice..help on operating the coffee machine available and nicely done..
Its pricey in comparisson to some but overall I can't fault a nice stay

Room Tip: Consideration must be given to mobility impaired - select grd floor...also acess to bath shower I f...

Dear John,

Thank you so much for your detailed review, I'm sure it will be really helpful to the readers.
I'm glad to read your stay was pleasant, aplogies for the bath, we wuld have been happy to set an extraflat shower in the room Paris, but the law says that 1 of the 7 rooms has to provide a normal bath..
Thanks for advising us about the sofa, we've been testing it and so far it produces no sound, but if we should notice some noise, we would promptly replace it!

Thank you very much for your kindness, we wish you all the best.

We stayed here for three days in August and could not have been happier. The room was large, clean and comfortable. Pilar, the owner and her husband were the nicest people and so very helpful. It is a small hotel and the beach is a block away. Two beach chairs and an umbrella will cost 14 euros to rent all day, well worth it, and a beautiful beach. Downtown is a short bus ride (10-15 minutes) away for about 1.5 euros. Busses run all the time. If you haven't been there, Santander is a great place to visit.

Room Tip: Ask for the New York room, it has a balcony.
