We stayed here for one night. Our rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean, with small balconies where you could sit out and take in the view of the streets below. The bed was the biggest, and most comfortable I have slept in for a long time. One minor quibble was having a shower over the bath, which didn't drain properly. Might have been a design problem as it was the same in both rooms.
Front of house staff were courteous and efficient, but slightly aloof. We didn't sample dinner in the restaurant, but had a drink in the bar where the waiters were struggling to cope on a busy Saturday night. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide variety of both hot and cold options on display, as well as champagne! The location is perfect for exploring Santa Cruz, with a short walk taking you to the centre of the city. Valet parking is available for around 12 Euros a day. Our son made use of the state of the art gym equipment, available for guests' use.
Overall, a great place to stay, and astounding value for money for the price we paid. We will certainly go back \and would recommend for a luxurious city break. It's a welcome escape from the tourist trappings of the South.

This is a wonderful hotel. Ideally located, right across from a beautiful park and close to everything. Room was very clean, spacious with all the ammenities. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Food, especially the breakfast buffet was amazing. Pool and grounds were beautiful.

Got a great deal for a 10 day break at the recently refurbished GH Mencey in charming Santa Cruz. Got moved [sympathetically] from Room 281 positioned near the kitchen door to top floor Room 495 with a great view over the contemporary designed gardens, fabulous salt water pool, spa and gym. Great buffet breakfasts — every day should start with bubbles and smoked salmon — and charming staff [especially the dapper garden and pool man, sporting spotless white togs and cool shades]. Drinks in the bar were reasonably priced — for a five star hotel — and the hotel was in a great location for bars, cafes and restaurants frequented by Santa Cruz locals. Diagonally across the Ramblas from the hotel is the beautiful Parque Garcia Sanabria with fountains, children's play areas and a cafe showing films and football on a big screen. We felt very special going through the original entrance areas, but did not make it to the casino. The hotel is very popular for celebrations and business meetings and the demonstration kitchen is a great idea. We're spoiled now for other venues in Tenerife, we hope to return very soon.

We just rocked up without any reservation and got a junior suite for a very good price. We escaped the South and a mistakenly booked semi package thing. We flew down and forgot that this is Tenerife and what it caters to mostly... but that was only one night. We escaped to the North and stayed in an overpriced boutique type place in San Rocque and planned to spend the weekend here in S Cruz. So with the help of Google maps as our handheld GPS we found this place next to a park. It is huge and well staffed. They accommodated all our wishes: from the good upgrade package to our wish to see rooms before we booked them. It is an elegant place with nice design touches. We got a room facing the road, but the views more than make up for the car noise. The spa and pool area were impressive - even if we did not use them.. they look very good! So we'd recommend the place for those that are looking to avoid the packaged tour mess and want a bit of authenticity on the island.
