“lovely quiet holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

a little to quiet defiantly for the older person or groups
a few to many rules round pool but that's about it rooms are large with air con and a fridge.
my son 12 got a bit bored as not many children but we knew that may be case as in term time.
as I stated at start this is not a resort for the youngsters but there is plenty of sunbeds around 3 different pools,
staff where friendly and helpful room was cleaned every other day with fresh towels and sheets.
the restaurant could get busy but staff would direct you to available tables and food was good but could be very much the same but managed to eat every night, drinks where plentiful from the self service bar all day and the hotel bars in the evening.
beach and town centre is about 15/20 minute walk mainly downhill and taxi back to hotel is only 4 euros.
we stayed in the Canarife but all 3 hotels looked ok but the Canarife and Bonanza defiantly look the best choices.
I have been asked would I go back and if im honest not unless we went in a large group because a little to quiet for us but that would be the only reason

Booked this hotel under the impression it was the blue sea resort and spa and a four star resort but when i arrived i realized this did not exist, it is three different hotels which are all in administration which we found out by one of the locals. There was no one to tell us which hotel out of the three we was staying at we had to find this out ourselves, staff was extremely rude and did not make us feel welcome at all i asked to speak to the manager that we was not happy staying at the hotel and she said 'she would invite us to leave and close the door behind' she gave me the impression that they did not welcome English into the hotel as she told us we would be more suited to the south of the island.I don't know who in there right mind would give this hotel a four star, rooms was never cleaned while we stayed there for 2 weeks she would just make the bed and we would have to ask for fresh towels, couple of people got robbed including an engagement ring the pool was filthy we was not allowed to walk on the grass not allowed to jump in the pool not allowed any inflatables in the pool this place was like serving a prison sentence!!!!!!!!!!!could not sleep during my stay here this hotel and management really upset me the way they treated us throughout the stay and put me off Tenerife for life!!!!! the only good thing that came out of this holiday was meeting some amazing people!!

Blue Sea Resort Hotels comprise the Canarife Palace, Bonanza Palace (adjacent) and the Interpalace (opposite). Clients can use the facilities of each of the hotels.
For our 2 week all inclusive stay (15-30 June, 2013) we had a second floor room in the Canarife Palace (Blue Sea Puerto Hotel).
Firstly, let me say, we had a very enjoyable 2 week holiday. The room was comfortable, the food excellent and the staff friendly & helpful.
The hotel clients comprised something like 40% Spanish, 40% German and 20% "others". It was particularly popular for weekend breaks being very full from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon.
Our primary criticism was the lack of information. We were handed a poorly printed sheet of paper giving times, locations and facility info. However it was inaccurate. The Canarife Palace restaurant was closed from 1st May (6 weeks before our arrival) but we were directed there for breakfast & lunch. The Mocambo Bar was closed on Fridays & Saturdays; inconvenient. The room was serviced every other day; it should be daily in an apparently 4 star hotel.
Having said that we were well pleased with our room which had a new flat screen TV installed during our stay together with an upgraded TV selection (some 20 English channels).
The food was excellent. Good choice on the salad bar, excellent meats and generally good vegetables. Sweets a little limited by UK standards although they did have yoghurts and fruit.
The house red wine was good. However, you needed to be on time for opening to avoid queuing.
The swimming pools were kept crystal clear with a good pool for children at the Bonanza Palace. The pool at the Canarife was quieter and good for exercising swims.
The hotel is unusual in offering limited free parking but there is always space in the road relatively close to hand. We hired a car from Auto Reisen who offered good value for money rates. In fact, the 2 week car hire was around the price of the taxi fares to/from the airport!
It is a steep downhill walk to Puerto de la Cruz; certainly manageable unless unfit or incapacitated. If you can't face the climb back the taxi fare was 4€. Whilst on holiday we visited Loro Park. We obtained our tickets over the internet to avoid queuing but if you go before 10am you'll not have difficulties. Currently, the offer return tickets for 10€ each if you purchase as you leave. Loro Park is extremely well maintained with (possibly) the best Orca and dolphin shows anywhere. Prices for drinks, ice creams etc. were also reasonable. Parking was 3.50€ but again, if there before 10am there was plenty of space in the streets.
Hence, to summarise:
A great holiday and good value for money.
Not quite up to 4 star but still very acceptable.
Food excellent but remember it is all buffet style so you shouldn't expect "coudon bleau".

Room Tip: Canarife Palace, second floor 200-205, over look the pool, have nobody above, face south (inland) so...

We booked with low cost holidays about 6 weeks ago and decided on this hotel, in spite of some mixed reviews. All we wanted was some sun, time to relax and in a quiet and peaceful location. We arrived after a 4.5 hour flight, got our transfer (which was much quicker than expected) and arrived at around 2 in the morning. We originally arrived at the Interpalace which to be completely honest had a damp smell so when they told us we were booked at the Canarife over the road, we couldn't be happier. On arrival, the staff were very helpful and check-in was very simple. We stayed on a half-board basis which was fine as it included breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was great - there was a great selection of hot and cold food, breads, cheese, meat, fruit, juices and coffee. Dinner was also good - a bit hit and miss sometimes, perhaps they have alternative chefs on different days! However, the food was on the whole really quite tasty and always had a different variety each day. There were good desert choices too. The one thing to mention if you are booking half-board is that the drinks on your evening meal aren't included. This is an extra charge at 2 euros each per day so that was an extra 20 euros we hadn't counted on. You can have as many drinks as you like with your meal though.

In the day, there was plenty of sunbeds available around the pool and it was generally a very friendly and quiet atmosphere. At the start of the week, there was none of this 'sunbed-reserving' but towards the weekend when it got busier, it was much more difficult to get a sunbed. There are reviews here about the pools being cold but we didn't notice - the sun is so strong in Tenerife that the pool is just what you need to cool off. Neither of us noticed either pool ever being cold and they were both very clean.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything. Cleaning only happened once on a 6 day stay but to us it didn't really matter, we didn't stay in the room very much so it didn't get dirty. The guests tend to be either couples, young families or older couples - no big groups out late etc.

We had a sea-view room with a good size balcony which was lovely to spend the evening on after dinner.

The village itself was great and had everything you could need. We went to 'Suma', the local supermarket, and stocked up on some basics. We bought some lovely spanish wine for only 2 euros to enjoy on our balcony which is definitely worth doing. There were also some nice looking places to eat in the village.

If you wanted to walk 20 minutes down to the sea, we would definitely recommend it! The resort is on a cliff-top and has beautiful views of the sea and Mount Teide behind. The trip down to the sea was well worth it though and then you can see Puerto de la Cruz town which seemed much busier than the village (La Paz) that the resort is in.

We really enjoyed staying here and were both pleasantly surprised. All we wanted was a chilled out week away and we definitely got it here, and it was good value for money. The hotel is quite basic in amenities, but what more do you actually need than good, clean pools, friendly staff, good food, amenities to use in any of the 3 hotels, and the gorgeous Tenerife sun!!

Definitely recommended - enjoy your holiday!

Room Tip: We put in a request for a sea view and top floor - well worth it, it was quite secluded and so very...

This was advertised as a 4 star hotel but it is definitely not 4 star.

On the plus side the food was good, but the restaurant became very crowded in the mornings and they regularly ran out of cups so I couldn't get my much needed cup of tea. Also the spa in the hotel next door was very good.

However, if you are happy with absolutely no service, then you'll be ok. There are no tea facilities in the room and no help in reception about where to go, luggage etc. I paid for wi-fi but it only worked in certain spots in reception and even then was not very reliable.

There are two pools, but I wouldn't recommend them for children (or adults) as the water is freezing.

I am still at this hotel as i write this with another week to go.
It is full of Spanish school children on a school holiday they are running a riot banging doors running up and down the corridor at all hours no respect for anyone.
I would never recommend this hotel the staff just laugh and joke with them maybe telling them that the English are at fault nothing is ever done about it. The English are few here but the ones that are hereall say they wwill never come back again. The weather is always cloudy and the beach is a mile away and when you get there its full of rubbish and tab ends if you have booked to come here i recommend you charge hotels while you can.
