Having read previous reviews regarding Club Tarahal in Tenerife I felt it was only fair to give an up to date no hold barred opinion. Yes the area is beautiful and on first impressions the resort is nice, but once you have got over the wow factor of the far reaching views from the (Very Small only a dozen sunbeds!!) rooftop pool terrace, it then starts to fall apart. The apartments are a mixture of holiday rentals and permanent residents. The noise levels are appalling. There is no consideration from other residents and we were unlucky enough to have a spanish family in the apartment BELOW us and we were kept awake every night by their shouting and running around and banging of doors etc etc. Not fun especially with children !!! We had broken sleep every single night from people coming in or going out at 2 and 3 o clock in the morning. (Think the people inthe apartment above us worked nights) and generally having no thought for others who were sleeping. Also the residents in this aprtment block all seemed to have dogs !! even though the garb in the holiday booklets says no animals we quite often heard dogs shut in apaprtments all day barking and howling. Our apartment was niceley furnished but I think we just got lucky !! They are all owned by individuals so if you get someone who is a bit OTT then you could quite well end up with flock wallpaper and shag pile carpets.
There is NO shop on site as stated in other reviews and there is also NO restuarant. The reception area is not manned 24 hours and is closed on at least 3 days a week maybe more I cant remember.
We honestly loved the area and with 2 children 12 and 7 all they wanted was to go in the pool but it is very small and you need to be aware that it is deep all the way accross there is NO shallow area so small children and non swimmers need to have armbands supervision etc.
We would go back to the area but we wouldnt go back to this accomodation. I can honestly say we were glad to get home and have a good nights sleep !!!
