“Not just parrots and killer whales!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Boy - we went there yesterday on our last day in Tenerife. I am passionate about birds and killer whales so this seemed ideal. I also love all animals and Loro Parque has so much more to offer, including meerkats, monkeys of all sorts of varieties, tigers, the list goes on.

The shows that were put on were spectacular. The orca show we attended twice, the parrot show was something else when they all got into the air at the end - to the extent that it brought a tear to my eye for some reason!

The park itself was spotlessly clean with the most meticulous attention to detail. The toilets were amazingly clean with flowers stuck around the mirrors and scattered along the basin tops - really unusual and a lovely touch. The restaurants are reasonably priced and not the usual rip off that we unfortunately get in the UK - and with more of a choice of eateries of different nationalities.

If you love animals ... this is a must see.

“Worth every Euro”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

This is probably one of the two "must see" locations in Tenerife. On the recommendation of friends, we opted to (a) go as early as possible and (b) pay the extra amount - 52 as opposed to 33 Euros - for the Discovery Tour.
In addition to entry, this gave us best view reserved seating for the dolphin, Orca and sea lion shows, a 3 course lunch with drinks in one of the Park's restaurants and, in the afternoon a behind the scenes tour with an English guide, of the Penguinarium, the Gorilla enclosure and the Orca pools. All wrapped up with a potted history of the park and its owner - who still lives in a private house within the grounds.
We spent the whole day at this attraction and didn't manage to see all of its attractions. I'd certainly go back again.
(A free bus runs every 20 minutes to the park, commencing at 9am from Puerto de la Cruz).

“Great day out even in rain!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

We were unlucky enough to visit Loro Parque on a very showery day, but because of the displays, and inside exhibits, we didn't actually get very wet!
We didn't go into the treetop walk, partly because hubby doesn't like heights, and partly because then we would have got wet! However, we did manage to pretty much visit the rest of the park, and as a conservation experience it is up there with the best. There was ample space for all the animals, and the displays (Orcas, dolphins, parrots etc, were obviously carried out with a lot of enjoyment from animals and humans.
There were plenty of eateries onsite. We opted for the selfserve grill and salad bar. The food was fine, and quite fairly priced for this kind of site.
Toilet facilities were plentiful and well maintained. There was a lot of walking involved, so this attraction might not be totally suitable for less mobile people, and there were some hilly spots, making pram or wheelchair pushing more difficult.
All in all, it was a pleasant day out in spite of the rain, although with hindsight, if it HAD been sunny, it could have got a bit too hot.

“Parrot Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

Arrived here expecting to see a lot of parrots - which we did. What I wasn't expecting were the penguins, the aquarium and most especially the incredible shows. The seal show made me laugh, the dolphin show was spectacular and the orcas just blew my mind. I would recommend a trip across the island to make a day of this to anyone. We almost went on an excursion for 5 hours but it would not have been a enough time to see everything. We actually went on public transport (caught the bus) and had all day there. Spent an hour wandering around the old town afterwards. Looked great. On the list for a return visit at some point.

Loro park is really worth a visit
The animals are all well cared for with lovely bog enclosures. The best bit we found is the dolphins their trainers have such a connection with them it is lovely.
T he whales are also good but beware of the cameras and captions put up with your pictures very funny.
The penguin bit is excellently done as well brilliant day out if not a little far away from costa adeje
but worth it !!!!
