“Great weekend at a great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

We were looking for a different place to enjoy a special ocasion and we loved to stay in this hotel, the suit was fantastic and we tried the massage and the private spa, if you can afford it, i strongly recommend you try it, it's fabulous. The views and the location of the hotel along with the service and staff, provide a great environment for a great weekend at a great hotel.

Very well run hotel in a very good location right on the sea front. Breakfasts were outstanding with a very good choice of buffet with freshly cooked eggs and omlets while you wait. Could be even better if they included a fresh fruit salad. The only other gripe was the internet reception that kept dropping out despite assurances from the staff that it was working OK. The Spa which is on the top two floors you have to pay extra for in addition to the room costs.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a sea view on a higher floor for good views

We were given a room on the second floor without a sea view, disappointingly, though we got the afternoon sun on our balcony. The room was spotlessly clean and the maid cleaning service was excellent. A modern bathroom was well appointed with an excellent shower, the wifi was best here! The bed was comfortable and linen changed regularly, the bedside lighting was not great for reading and TV channels had a poor reception at times. The balcony was roomy with comfortable patio chairs. There were two easy chairs and a small round table as well as a desk and chair inside & there was plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space though the room was narrow at the foot of the bed.
Breakfast was a feast with food for all tastes, the service was excellent. The range of bar entertainment was a great let down as we had the same duo singing six out of seven nights - monotonous... The weather was changeable with a lot of cloud and some showers so no lounging pool side most days. The main nationalities we heard were German and Spanish though the staff all knew some English, they were pleasant and attentive. I would reccommend this hotel.

We spent 2 weeks at the Beatriz Atlantis in January 2014 in a sea view room on the 4th floor. The sound of the rough seas was very audible but the internal soundproofing was good with no noise from the adjacent rooms. The standard of cleanliness could not be faulted and the linen was changed every 3 days or so with daily towel change if desired.

The only downside with the room was the rather dim lighting, which did not encourage bedtime reading and the very firm/hard beds. The bathroom was well appointed with an adequate supply of toiletries. The room safe costs 3 euros a day.

Parking in the area is extremely limited and we were glad we did not have a hire car. The hotel charges 12 euros a day for their underground car park.

The restaurant has themed nights, (International, Mexican, Canarian, Oriental and Italian) which is basically the same food with a few variations. There is “show cooking” with chefs cooking fish and meats in addition to the food on the self-service buffet. The salad bar provided a wide variety of choices. Fresh fruit, icecream, sweet cream sponges and cheese was available for dessert.

Breakfast provided choices to suit all tastes and nationalities with “smoothies”, good quality orange and other juices, cereals, fresh and tinned fruits, yoghurts, freshly cooked omelettes and eggs as well as bacon, cheeses, cold meats etc. There was a wide variety of bread and rolls as well as pastries and cakes etc.

No problem with cleanliness of cutlery or plates and the tablecloths were changed after each guest vacated the table. To have to wait for a table was a very rare occurance as the staff were very quick to lay up.

The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and most could understand and speak a certain amount of English in addition to German and of course Spanish.

No problem getting a sun-bed at this time of year but in January the pool area loses the benefit of the sun after 1pm .

The entertainment consisted of the same musical duo every night except Saturdays when a local folk band with traditional Canarian dancers entertained for a while.

The free WiFi access was very patchy with none on the balcony or poolside and a variable signal in the bedroom although it did improve in the reception area during our second week when a new router was visible on the reception desk.

Room Tip: Essential to go for a sea view room if you do not want a view of blocks of flats.

This is a hotel devoid of style and charm. We experienced lousy weather so we depended on the it to provide us with a high degree of comfort and things to do..........

The common areas, apart from the entrance hall, comprised only one bar and one restaurant.

The bedroom was adequate and the sea view spectacular, but the bed and pillows were hard. The shower flooded the bathroom with each use (reported three times to no avail) The (un)heated towel rail is switched off in line with hotel policy - annoying in wet weather. There is no ventilation in the bathroom.

Breakfast is mediocre compared with that of the hotel's Southern rivals; awful coffee, poor selection and tinned fruit! We didn't try dinner.

The staff were mainly helpful but unsmiling.

We won't return.

Room Tip: Try a different hotel.

The Hotel is okay. Spa is good. And it is well-located.
The problem is the staff of this hotel... These people are awful.

First of all, when I arrived to the hotel, a very unpleasant receptionist rejected to help me with parking. He was rude and unattentive. He said to me: "I don't care! You must find a place to park your car by yourself".

I supposed to have an ocean-view room. But the room on the 5th floor I got didn't have ocean-view. You better call it bay-view. A huge building nearby ruined the ocean-view. That was a bit upset.

Bear in mind, that it's a smoking hotel. When I relaxed on the balcony, an old lady smoked on the nearby balcony all the time. That was disgusting.

Breakfast was the biggest disappointment. It was awful! The variety of food was good. But only fried eggs were edible. Fruits were green. Buns were disgusting. Meat was tasteless.

At the check-out reception-lady tried to cheat me. She asked me to pay for a safe, which I didn't use and for making international calls which I didn't make. I never recommend anybody to stay at this hotel.

I booked a night at this hotel to meet up with a friend that was staying here while I was staying the other side of the island. I got a so called 'deal' and arrived by very friendly reception staff and the room was more shine than substance.True at first look to room was modern, clean and well appointed however that is where the hotel stops being good and turns into being average. I had booked half board which was a mistake as the restaurant was nothing more that a large canteen with very average food and less tables than what the size of hotel called for. We were herded both in and out and the experience was not very pleasant making me wish I had gone out to eat. The breakfast arrangement were very much in the same mode. Does it warrant its 4 star rating? Rooms - Yes; Food/Restaurant - No. I am glad I didn't pay the full price.
