“Exellent interior”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

Difficult to find in the middle of the town a lot of first dish to chose between not so many second dishes but the again many desserts to chose between. Lovely/interesting interior and they make the spare ribs on an "open fire", you can see when they are preparing the food on the grill.

“Sadly, not what it once was.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

Era de Las Mozas used to be a restaurant you needed to be in the know about to find. The sort of place which only locals and residents knew existed. It also used to be the sort of place you could go and order enough food to feed a rhino and still have change from 15€ a head.

But its not what it used to be. A generation of residents, expats and locals alike have failed to keep this little secret to ourselves, it became widely know and popular with an increasing number of ex-pat residents and with visitors who return regularly to the island. And on the back of its success the prices have gone up and the quality and service has gone down.

Era de las Mozas has ridden on its success for too long, its not done anything to lift its image or improve itself in years and whilst I still find myself eating there, usually at the insistence of others, I find myself wishing it was how I remembered it 10 years ago.

“Hearty portions, usually enough to take home too”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

We have been to this restaurant so many times the latest just 5 days ago.
Typical Canarian.
Good variety of starters (inc. the local soup/stew -Fabada), but be careful as the main courses are usually very filling on their own.
Main courses inc. very large pork or beef chops (and 2 if they don't think one is big enough). We particularly enjoy the rack of ribs, which on our latest visit was more than enough to share after a shared portion of their roasted cheese with cranberry jam.
Desserts are OK - but we are usually too full to contemplate any.
House wine is good value at €4 for half litre (they also do quarter litres).
And don't forget the speciality coffee - barraquito.

“great value big portions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

Ensure that you don't eat the day before you go in the evening.

Try the starters, piemento peppers in salt, goats cheese and fig jam, a variety of chorizo's.

Followed by pork ribs or pork chops or pork loin and canarian potatoes. You will need a doggy bag.

The place is not easy to find, but when you do its a find.

The staff are very pleasant, practice your spanish.

4 of us went, 2 of us ate cold meats for 2 days.

“quality food and service, a little hidden gem !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

We have been here a number of times and although its a pain to find / get to, once you do you are certain to add it to your list of places to eat and know that you will not be worried about the possibility of having a bad meal.

If you drive they have a large car park so there is little problem in parking unless you get unlucky and go on a very busy Spanish family Sunday outing. You can get a bus which drops you a 5-10 minute walk away.

The food whether its ribs ( very, very large portion and after a while can get a bit boring if you don't share it with others), the chicken or the pork together with salad, potatoes, bread and dipd has always been for us at the highest quality and never had any issues with any food served.

We have ate inside and also in warmer evenings in the covered courtyard outside and the relaxed but professional service has always been evident throughout our visits. They also speak english so ordering food isn't a problem and they were always on hand to provide anything we needed to make our visit enjoyable and thats why we keep going back !!

Meal for 4 including a litre of wine normally works out at about €50 including a tip
