“BEST BY FAR ON LANZAROTE FOOD/ATMOSPHERE/LOVELY OWNERS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

I met michel and mabel 15 months ago (the hard working owners) when i say hard working i don't say this lightly. The food that michel produces in what seems like a tiny kitchen absolutely astonishes us every time i return iswear to anyone who does not drink alcohol this food actually makes you feel drunk (so satisfying)
We visit this restaurant every time we go to lanzarote which is four times this year and i cannot praise this place enough i actually count the days down to my visit to the restaurant instead of the days to the start of my holidays,
The service at this restaurant is fabulous mabel works soooo hard and nothing is too much trouble i took some friends that we met on our recent visit for christmas eve 2012 there were seven of us and every one of us were amazed at how lovely mabel is I'm sure she was born smiling she really made our christmas special
this restaurant truly is a pleasure that everybody should experience and the couple who run it are genuinely nice people!! see you in march michel and mabel cant wait!! angie and steve xx

“Mexican food to die for!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

This Mexican Restaurant serves really good food at affordable prices. The food is cooked to your taste and can be as mild or as spicy as you like. The Special Mexican steak and the Fajitas are to die for! The Cuban couple that run the restaurant are very welcoming and we have always been completely satisfied. We have eaten there many many times since it opened & have never been disappointed! If you are in the area of Matagorda & the Commercial Centre, and you like Mexican food, then do give the Mexicano El Cuate Restaurant a try. You will find it nearest the sea end of the centre.

“Coeliac friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

We have two kids who are coeliac and we did the usual routine of presenting a coeliac card to ensure their needs were known. To our relief, the waitress said she was coeliac too and we were taken care of. The grown up's meal were decent Mexican fare and cheap and very tasty but as importantly for us the kids got something which was safe for them and not the usual bland "safe" offering they often find themselves choosing. So top marks all around.
