Since Lanzarote (and the Canaries) are built by volcanoes (and the evidence on Lanzarote is all around you) it would be a wasted trip to not visit this well kept and well organised National Park. I think it was just 9 euro for two of us to enter and explore the park - and this included a 30 minutes or so narrated (multi-lingual) coach trip to the crater which included some absolutely stunning views and sights.
Back in the centre there is a souvenir shop which you can browse and a restaurant overlooking the fantastic park views. We didn't eat there but customers seemed to be enjoying the place. There is a grill over a 2 metre diameter hole that disappears down into the earth and the heat that arises from this hole is simply awesome. Unfortunately they weren't grilling on there that day otherwise I'd have been tempted to try a "lava grilled steak".
100% is this place worth a visit!
