I have to say I was reluctant to go as, after reading rave reviews in various places, I thought it would be overrated and I'd leave disappointed. This was definitely not the case.
At the roundabout (with a statue of a lady with a basket on here head) which takes you up to the Mirador de la Concepción (well worth a quick look), take the opposite exit in direction Velhoco. Continue for about 1 km and the restaurant is on your left-hand side.
We arrived early for Canarian standards, around 8:30 and any later would have meant waiting. We were given a great table on the patio, surrounded by incredible lush trees and plants, personally preferable to being in one of the little private rooms.
There are no frills, no menu (just what the waiter tells you), and the food was perfect. Grilled goats cheese with green mojo for starters then pork loin and ribs with papas arrugadas and chips (even the chips were amazing!!!), 3 bottles of beer and bread and the bill came to 21 euros!!!! It's not a tourist trap by any means, full of locals of all ages and obviously "the" place to be on a Saturday night. But if you want to go any later, or for a weekend lunchtime, booking is definitely the best option.
