My wife had seen this on the television but didn't make a note of the name , you don't see the gardens on normal 'reps' excursions so you have to make your own way . We were very lucky to be friendly with a restaurant waiter who took us from puerto rico (where we were staying) to the Jardin Canario when he was going to Las Palmas on his day off . ( For the cynical he didn't want paying !!! ). We had a good four hours unhurried wander around . There is a 'recomended' route to follow , which we did , this covers the whole garden( with occasional toilets en route ) and ensures that you benefit from seeing all the fantastic plants . Everything is labelled and multi lingual explanations and history make it all very pleasant . A small museum and restaurant completed a very nice outing . What a change from the u.k. -- no fees of any kind to enter , just like a day in the park used to be at home .
