Our initial impression was very favourable and we did not change our view. On entering our room we found a complimentary bottle of water, small bottle of wine, basket of sweets and a couple of chocolate biscuits which was EXCELLENT for a "2 key" rated apartment. How often in the past have I arrived in Spain gasping for a drink of water and found everywhere closed?
Some reviews have commented on the hill climb and stairs but the brochure makes it clear that it is not suitable for people of limited mobility so having a lot of stairs is not a valid criticism.
The rooms were very clean and spacious with a good sized balcony, there were pictures on the walls and real plants in the lounge and on the balcony, again, more than one would expect from a 2 star hotel. A couple of chips on the enamel of the bath were not a problem in view of the price we paid and it seems churlish of me to mention it .
The pool area was very good, spacious and with plenty of sun loungers. Paul, the host did his job well and made it a personal target to try to learn everyone's name.
Trips were overpriced and you could save a lot of money by booking them yourself in the town.
Downsides of the holiday did not relate to the hotel / apartments but more to the harassment by time share sellers at the beach and the fact that if you stopped by a restaurant to look at a menu you were descended upon by staff trying to persuade you to eat there. The WORST CULPRIT was a bar in Puerto Rico where the staff tell you it is happy hour and that all drinks a 2 for the price of 1 and then double your order so that if you buy a gin and tonic they give you 2 and the prices are more than the other bars so you end up getting 2 for the price of 2 whether or not you want 2.. When I brought this to the attention of the rep suggesting she warn people and her only response was "That's Puerto Rico for you".
I would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to others as i said, it does what it says on the tin.
