We arrived at Guanabara Park at 5am on a Sunday morning to be greeted with a grumpy man behind the reception. Not a great start to the hols. When we got to our room it was very clean spacious and every thing we were looking for. The whole Guanabara experience was ok but BORING. We had an entertainer for the first night then that was it! There was supposed to be music at the pool in the daytime but that too only happened once. The bar staff were charging all different prices for the drinks so that led us to hit the nightlife down the centre which was excellent, highly recommended. Paul the entertainer was arrogant and too drunk most nights to be bothered to entertain and do his job although this is not a bad mark against the hotel. You will find that at the weekends the spanish people tend to overtake the hotel and pool and they are very loud. We did enjoy our holiday in Puerto Rico but only because we found our own entertainment. Do not buy any trips of the Rep as you can do it all yourself at the harbour or catch a bus to wherever you want to go at a fraction of the price.

i would definitly recommend the guanabara park apartments they were clean,well looked after and had everything we needed,we had a lovely week there and would go back tomorrow.there are plenty of shops and bars and resturants to choose from and it is all very clean. friday is market day at mogan and we went over from puerto-rico on the ferry at a cost of ten euros each return and it was a lovely pretty place with a harbour and the market.

Nice and clean and friendly. Nice big pool and bar/snacks next to it. As everyone else says its a bit of a walk up the hill but only €3 in a taxi. Good restaraunts at the bottom of the hill and try Rocky's for a good breakfast.
Paul the entertainer is a bit of a cheesy Elvis impersonater, but he knows it and is a decent bloke. If he gives you a tip where to eat take it, he's right..!

Had a nice week at Guanabara park, our party was aged between 35-52 and we walked up and down from the top of the hill twice aday. Which was ok for fit people but older people may struggle, the Pool area was kept clean and plenty of tables, chairs, sunbeds and umbrellas.
Rooms were cleaned daily and were maintained to a good standard
