“Small intimate restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We had a excellent meal in this little restaurant. We were early and had more or less undivided attention. Highly recommended.

“Fabulous dinner in a cave”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013 via mobile

You can't see it from the outside, but the restaurant is built into the rock and if you sit inside it's like eating dinner in a cave! It is a lovely setting.
The staff are brilliant - polite and attentive. We had the armogrote and grilled cheese with palm honey to start and the mixed grilled fish for the main, all topped off with a beautiful local wine from Garujonay.
It was all absolutely delicious and the best meal we had on La Gomera. My only regret is we didn't go back for a second night!

“simply superb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

This small restaurant is built into the rock five minutes walk away from the ferry port. It has a superb view of tenerife and the open sea and you can sit outside or in a cosy restaurant. The service is friendly and knowledgeable and the food superb. We enjoyed a dish of melting fried baby quid and a very generous platter of assorted grilled fish. The bill was very reasonable given the quality of the experience. It was food and a setting which was difficult to leave.

“All round Excellence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

We were on a day trip from Tenerife and saw this restaurant had great reviews on Trip Advisor so went for lunch. We were not disappointed. We begun with a shared starter of fried calamari which was as fresh and tasty as any I have had. We then shared the mixed grilled fish which was also excellent. The setting is marvellous and we will have to return. The service is efficient, knowledgeable and friendly.

“The nicest in La Gomera”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

A spectacular position just through the tunnel from the port of San Sebastian, El Charcon also offers very good quality food. The fish is very fresh, with the choice of the day's catch presented to diners. Service was excellent, with very friendly and helpful tips for both food and wine. the restaurant staff don't want to push you into spending more, just to enjoy the experience. And we did. Thoroughly recommended.
