Read previous reviews before we went. You could not fault the Hotel(the rooms are not 4*),the hotel facilities, especially the food was very good, one of the best all inclusive we have been to.Ask for a poolside facing room on an upper level as it gets the sun ,the rooms on the other side are a bit dark,Note they all have a seaview,(just about).Plenty of sun loungers for everyone but the hotel does suffer from the "Early German Sun Bed Syndrome"you need to be very early to get the better positionsThe hotel had about 5%English when we were there. The only downside is we like relative piece and quiet and the daily pool/poolside activities and evening entertainment was it bit like Butlins !Overall though a very good holiday.

We went here on december 29th for one week. We have never been to fuerteventura and was guite worried as we had heard mixed reviews. How ever this was the best holiday we have ever had.
We are a family of 5 and we have been to lots of different places around the world including the carribean and florida , this holiday is one of our favourite!
The Hotel was very clean and all the staff were very friendly. Having 3 young children it was perfect . The hotel had lots for them to do including a kids club, a park , and someone came round all day playing games with them. The pools were clean and had lots of sun beds.( you didnt need to reserve one!!) The food was first class for adults and children.
The location of the hotel is also perfect. we sent lots of time on boards sliding down the sand dunns.
WOULD DEFINATLY GO AGAIN. It should be a Five star hotel.!!!!!!!!!

“All inc indulgence”

Just back (Jan 05) from a weeks stay at this newly refurbished hotel. It was upgraded to 4* all inc in 2004, and the standards of service reported previously have been maintained. Good and varied food served in 3 different restaurants. Booze on tap 24hrs a day. You can be served at the bar or help youself from draft beer/wine taps provided. Very convenient !

Dont expect an intimate boutique hotel. The complex is large (and somewhat sixties concrete style) comprising 400 hotel rooms, and 400 apartment style family rooms in an annexe in the grounds, all of good standard. There are activities laid on day and night (not that we used them much) The night entertainment is holiday camp naff and catering for large proportion of german guests. Easy enough to avoid !

We stayed off season so occupancy was perhaps 60%, but would be wary in full summer season as hundreds of guests descending on the large dining room at breakfast turn it into a school refectory of movement and noise. That said, the dining staff are unfailingly polite and helpful and very prompt with plate clearing etc.

The hotel is an excellent choice for families. Soft drinks and ice cream on tap and staff make a fuss of kids! It is also right on a superb beach and very private as only 2 hotels built in this conservation area. Also nice pool area(s), heated in winter. Note that kids club staff are all german and not helpful to non-german speaking kids. Perhaps inevitable as hotel quite german orientated.

Overall a good all round choice for families or couples wanting quiet releaxed beach holiday with no hassles and all inc facilities. Good value, especially for families in one room, but expect prices to rise when the new brand becomes established. Couples should ask for higher floor high number room as these have best sea views (very nice).

Have now visited Hotel Riu Oliva Beach Hotel some 6 times, usually to snatch a week or two break early and late for a complete rest. There is little to do ( lovely !!) Lots of sunshine ( lovely !!) and peace apart from the usual wind and noise of the sea. Although we have noticed that the rooms could do with a facelift, they are still spotlessly clean and the maids are really friendly and helpful. I got a big hug from our maid when we left in March. The manageress is most attentive as are the reception staff. Food is plentiful and varied and although most of the guests are German, there is still plently to choose from. The roast beef is some of the best we have ever tasted anywhere.
It is the best place in the world that we know of to go for a complete rest. A car is useful but there are frequent busses into Correlejo.

Myself and my partner travelled to Riu Olivia Beach in summer 2002.
What a location ! The beach it's situated on is the closest you will get to Carribean sands, white sand, turqoise sea and a really laid back chilled atmosphere, I really did not want to leave this beach paradise at the end of my two weeks. Accomodation was lovely, simple clean, airy and quite modern. Staff were lovely and the fact that this accomadation was right in the middle of a beach world made it all the more alluring.
Food was good, however was centred more towards German tastes, however, the restaurant provided varied choices of cuisine and the presentation was good. Would I go back ? Yes, in a flash. Highly Recommended !!
