“Not a 5 star hotel- How can you possibly rate this as 5 star?”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2012

This is a lovely hotel but far from 5 star as people claim (where have these people stayed?). It may be four star with the spa and indoor pool but the food is very bad and only 2 star and I would only recommend staying bed and breakfast. We had to return two meals in a week as the fish must have been cooked at 7 and left lying until we ate at 8. Meat was tough and sent back. One of the dinner options was 'Ham and Eggs'. That's a new one to me how you get 5 Star ham and eggs.

We complianed on leaving but it seems that there is no change and when they do eventually change the chef we will be back, but perhaps just bed and breakfast. Great shame.

Room Tip: Don't stay on the ground floor unless you need to.

We have been regular visitors to La Quinta over the years, and I would agree that the previous reviews on Tripadvisor are pretty accurate. So this is just a quick review to say that my husband and I have just enjoyed another peaceful and relaxing week there, and we thought it was just as good as our last visit, if not better.

It was so nice to receive such a warm welcome from The Manager of the hotel and the reception staff and to be handed a glass of chilled Cava upon arrival. Our room and balcony on the third floor was kept spotlessly clean, was very comfortable and quiet. The welcome gift of a bottle of Cava, chocolates and flowers in the room was also a very nice touch. Breakfast and Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and the service was fabulous. Drinks were also reasonably priced and the house white wine, at 9.50euros a bottle, graciously served in an ice bucket by the table, was very nice indeed.

It was a little quiet in the bar on a couple of evenings, but the comfort and layout of the seating, combined with the relaxed atmosphere and attentive service, seemed to create a nice ambience which allowed people to strike up a friendly conversation with other guests.

As ever, all the staff at La Quinta were kind, friendly and utterly professional. We look forward to returning again soon. Perhaps the only room for improvement would be to have some cushions on the pool loungers, and it would be wonderful to see Manuel back in the bar! ¡Salud!

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms if you like easy access to the pool. Upper floor rooms have a nice view over the...

I would say that all previous reviews are 100% accurate. It is nice to find a hotel which doesn't have music blaring out around the pool and which has waiter service for Dinner. The staff are all helpful and professional. We have to give praise especially to Paco and his team of staff in the bar, he was most welcoming and friendly.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who want to relax and unwind.

Room Tip: Request a ground floor.

This was the 4th time there. It is so easy to chill out. The staff are cheerful and helpful. The food is well cooked and well planned. If you are a pool person there is no fight for a bed. We would still like to go back and hope that Manuel is back in the bar as he was missed.

La Quinta gets so many things right, it only serves to highlight the few instances in which it gets things a bit wrong: on two of the seven nights during our stay, there were no vegetarian options at dinner; on one evening my main course was cold; on another, the meal I received bore little resemblance to its description on the menu; the sauna and steam room aren't always switched on even though the spa is advertised as being open all day.

But none of those niggles were enough to spoil what was a very enjoyable stay. Our room was large and comfortable, with plenty of storage space (including, handily, room in the mini bar for your own drinks). As another review has mentioned, the bathroom looked a dated (and it sometimes took a few attempts to get the flush on the toilet to work) but was otherwise fine. Our room was on the ground floor and had a patio that opened out on to the pool area – rooms on the first second floors have balconies facing the same direction.

Around the large, curved pool are plenty of sun-loungers (we never had a problem finding free ones) and a bar. Certainly when we were there, this whole area was pleasingly quiet. There are two beaches nearby – turn right out of the front of the hotel for the nicer one. There's also a marina about five minutes' walk down the road, full of bars and restaurants explicitly aimed at tourists (you can also go on boat trips from here). It won't be to everyone's tastes but it's good to have somewhere nearby that's an alternative to the hotel bar.

If you fancy going further afield (and don't have a car), you can book day trips through reception and there are frequent buses to Ciutadella, which is worth spending a morning looking round – the bus stop is just outside the hotel. But going sight-seeing isn't really the point of coming here – having a relaxing break largely spent by the pool or at the beach is. And for that, La Quinta is a great destination – even if it does still have room to improve in a couple of areas.

Most people have praised this hotel, and quite rightly. There is little really to add to the rave reviews. It was our first time on the island. The island is all right but not fantastically beautiful. There are many good beaches. driving is easy and a must. At least five car hire companies within a two minute walk with plenty of competition, so wait until you go. The air con is also quiet enough to leave on all night, and we needed to! All rooms face the pool as there is no view the other way. The staff are only there to please. They coped brilliantly with my food allergy. The food was soup, followed by buffet salad, then main course brought to the table out of at least six choices, then the cheese and dessert buffet. Do try the sorbets and ice cream, which you have to ask you waiter for. The food is five star but not michelin star. We left at 7.30 am on the last day and that is when breakfast starts, but they produced tea, coffee and a cold plate for us at 6.30! The bar prices were also resonable for a five star hotel. As I headed this, a great price for such a good hotel. Do go but not with children.

Room Tip: All rooms face pool. Odd numbered rooms get morning sun. Even numbered rooms get late faternoon and...

Had two weeks at this hotel and whilst we enjoyed it most of the time, we would never spend two weeks in it again. Evenings were boring as the so called entertainment (3 nights per week)
was woefull. The lights were turned off at the bar area between 10.30 and 11 pm every night and the resort itself left a lot to be desired.
The hotel was clean and most of the staff were friendly and helpful, the food was good but the drinks were expensive.
Great from the point of view than no children under the age of 18 years are permitted so it was
very quiet and relaxing during the day.
The sunbeds are not good, very uncomfortable but the pool area itself is very good.
This is not a hotel for the young or the young at heart as after a week you feel you are going stir crazy. Dont laugh too loudly if you are with friends as you will get dirrty looks from some
guests who may find any type of noise objectionable.
Sun beds are not to be reserved but people did and not just the Brits, the Germans, Spanish, Italians and Eastern Europeans all did it but I did witness the manager having a go at some of those who did and he removed their personal belongings. Mobile phones are not permitted around the pool or restaurant which I think is great but I believe they are going to get someone to police this in the future as it has caused some bad feeling as some guests ignore these rules.
Overall, this is the type of hoilday for people of a certain age but one week is more than enough.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less noise
