“A fantstic find !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2009

Having spent ages looking for a hotel that would be central for our needs we decided to go with this one. We were encouraged by the reviews on here and were not disappointed.
The hotel itself is really nice and modern, but the small courtyard which is a fab sun trap and the shutters on the windows still give it a spanish feel. The staff are extremely helpful and pleasant, the double room we had booked was not available so we were given a suite...we didn't complain !! The rooms were really clean and bright with comfortable beds and a walk in shower. Breakfast was typical of most hotels, meat, cheese, rolls, fruit cereal and the most amazing pastries.
The location was great, probaly about a 10 minute walk to where you can pick up the tour bus and 15-20 mins to the cathedral and the sea front where there are great tapas bars on the harbour so you can sit in the sun with a cold glass of cava and watch the world go by.
Would definitely recommend "Cappuucino" next door to the hotel, the food, coffee and desserts were fantastic.
When visiting Palma again i wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

Can't fault this hotel set right in the centre of old Palma. No need for taxi's everything was within walking distance, even the railway was less that 5 mins walk away. The food in the hotel was great well worth a try.
Great for friends and couples alike

I can't find anything to criticise about this hotel. Check-in was friendly and efficient, our room was large and very comfortable with an excellent shower and huge towels. There was plenty of choice at breakfast, including fresh fruit (not something you can take for granted in Spain!). We paid under 75GBP a night including breakfast via a booking website (booked in November) and thought that was excellent value.

The location is great for arriving via the airport bus (less than 5 minutes walk and we had no trouble at all finding it), and close to shops and the excellent market. It's walkable to pretty much anywhere you'd want to visit in Palma. On our first night we had difficulty finding anywhere to eat, but it later turned out that we'd gone in the worst direction we could have, and on the other 2 nights we found nearby restaurants.

If you like hearty peasant-style food I'd particularly recommend Sa Premsa restaurant (off C/Oms) - we had dinner and lunch there on different days, and thoroughly enjoyed both meals. It's a large, busy place where lots of locals eat.

Hidden on a pedestrian only street, but worth the trouble of finding it! Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of the city. Walking distance to restaurants, cafes, Plaza de Espana (where you can catch the City Sightseeing Bus). Clean, modern rooms, friendly staff. Great bathrooms with rain showerheads. Beautiful private courtyard and bar. Restaurant on site is Ok, but there are many better only steps away. Parking on site--but in an underground garage that is REALLY tiny--compact cars only! Still, free parking is great, and there are no parking lots in the area.

Thirty six of us descended on the San Miguel for our annual business review and Christmas ale-up. Our transfer bus had to drop us 400 yards away and negotiating the semi-derelict alleyways around the hotel to find it set an unprepossessing tone to what was meant to be an upbeat couple of days.

Once inside the hotel's warm embrace all was fine: the staff were as friendly in person as they had been by phone and email and the cool vibe of the place played well with our twenty- and thirty-something team. Great food (especially breakfast) and good bar service to kick-start our festivities.

Some of the concierge staff weren't as knowledgeable as they might and sent a few of us off on a wild goose chase to find the restaurant the hotel had recommended for our dinner. However.

I stayed in a suite which was a bit stark - they'd taken the minimalist thing a bit far and it felt cold and unwelcoming. Certainly not a place you'd want to spend much time. Great bathroom, finished well and kept spotlessly clean. All told, a nice gaff.

  • Liked — Funky design, nice bar.
  • Disliked — Stark interior decor for the suites: a bit cold and lifeless.

This was a very impressive hotel for thr price paid. A boutique hotel. Personal court yards v impressive.Loved it! Only prob. back lane access from town saw two people injecting drugs which was very upsetting..It made you feel a bit vulneragle. No complaints re hotel and sister hotels look v nice too.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2008

My wife and I stayed here for a short (4 day) break in September 2008. The hotel, as others have said, is a hidden gem. The hotel is built around a beautiful central courtyard so that there is nothing to see from the outside but on passing through an archway you enter an oasis from the bustle of Palma. The location is superb, being at the centre of the shopping district, a short walk to the main transport hub at Placa Espana and about 10 mins walk to the bar and restaurant area of Passeig Born (make sure you get a free map of the town from reception before setting out to explore as the old streets can be very disorientating!). The room was fantastic and the multilingual staff friendly, courteous and helpful. The only complaints we had were that the breakfast was quite basic for a hotel of this class with no hot option and we felt that the charge of nearly 10 euros a day to park in the hotels own car-park was unreasonable.

  • Liked — Location, friendly staff, room.
  • Disliked — Car park charge, limited breakfast options
