“MIRACULOUS MIRADOR”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2011

For our second visit to this hotel, and maybe because we stayed for one week, half board, we were given the best suite in the hotel - ask for room 912! (And see attached pics).

With a top floor panorama from two balconies over the whole Baia de Palma, this must be unsurpassed, even when compared with the rather shabby, but taller, Tryp Bellver hotel next door.

And the breakfast and evening menus were extensive, well-prepared and served by staff who were unfailingly helpful, at all times.

Our only three, small, complaints were that cleaning the floors without a hoover was quieter, but left a grey film of dust which coated bare feet: there was never any milk (sachets or cartons) left with the room coffee tray: and the waiter did not explain until the last night that house wine was included in the evening meal price.

If you visit, and room 912 is not available, ask for a front room above the restaurant floor (six and above) these rooms will have the best views and less night traffic noise - but prepare for a bit of a walk from the main entrance (also note that there is another, little-used door near the breakfast room).

And if you want a car, we've found Warrior, a few steps from the hotel, both cheaper and helpful - parking opposite the hotel is free, but possible only if you leave it until the commuters have left spaces: otherwise, secure parking costs ca £10 overnight!

Room 301, Great room, Views over the Harbour and Cathedral.
Bathroom had two toilets two showers and a whirl bath, two sinks
Large room with big double beds
Breakfast was taken outside everyday in the sunshine, You are approx 10 minutes walk into the centre but it is all on the flat. plenty to do locally with the City Tour busstop only 200 yards away on the other side of the road. a great place for a short city break at a good price

Very pleasant 4 day stay in Hotel Mirador. Good views from rooms and staff very freindly. Rooms very clean as was the rest of hotel. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The small indoor pool etc was a bonus for us at this time of the year. Didn't use the bar so cannot comment on it. Although it is not in the centre of the city it has the bonus of sea views and the luxury yatchs and cruise liners. It is only a short (but pleasant) walk back in to the city. It is easily reached from the Airport - No.1 drops almost directly outside.

Just back from a long weekend in Palma and stayed at the Mirador. It was absolutely brilliant if a bit quirky which in our opinion just added to the experience. Yes the hotel is a little bit dated but at least it still oozes character and a charm that most Spanish hotels lost years ago. Our room however, was fantastic, very large, overlooking the harbour ( as requested) and with all mod cons inc hair dryer and large plasma tv. The only thing we would have really liked was a kettle to make a cup of tea but we did have a well stocked reasonably priced mini-bar so made do with that. Breakfast was fine if sometimes a little bit tired but with smoked salmon on the menu I couldnt complain. The staff again are a bit quirky but great characters who are only to willing to help, noone was rude. Even though they could not all speak English, they tried to help us and we appreciated this. The location of the hotel is about 20 minutes walk from the fantastic cathedral and main shops but there are plenty of good restaurants and bars close by and of course the magnificent marina is just across the road. Woudl I stay there again? Definitely. If you are looking for a hotel with a bit of character and history, near to attractions and excellent value for money then I strongly recommend it. However, if you are wanting plush surroundings with high quality food and a definite 4* experience then you may wish to book somewhere else.

Have just stayed there for a week on holliday. We had a room on the 3rd floor with a balcony facing the yacht harbour. That was nice, but there is also a lot of noise from the street which is right between the hotel and the harbour. The noise is sometimetimes so loud that it is no pleasure to stay on the balcony.
The beds were some kind of light weight beds that looked mostly like some kind of extra beds. I have never experienced this at any hotel.
The room which is a nonsmoking room had a very unpleasant smell of tobacco smoke that lasted for several days. The staff tried to remove it with some kind of fresh air spray but this did not help in any way.
The breakfast is ok.
There is free internet but do not expect high speed. Many time it was not possible to get the contact and when it happened the signal was very poor.
It takes about10 to15 minutes to walk to the old center of Palma.
I do not think that this hotel would have 4 stars in nothern Europe, but it deserves 3 stars. The price and the quality did not match.

Stayed here with my wife in july.We were able to book in at mid day and the rooms were spacious and clean. The balcony over looked the main road, but very little noise from traffic...apart from the night Spain beat Germany.Who cares..!!! Breakfasts were well presented with freindly staff waiting on.Would use this hotel again.

Can't offer enough kudos. I loved this place. It was very convenient and the staff was helpful, particularly the younger ones named Jorge and Sekio. I took the #1 bus from the airport and arrived at the Mirador in short order, (Auditorium stop and then back to the west). The pictures from the 5th floor breakfast patio do not do it justice, you must see to believe. I was in Room 103, which had a huge wrap-around patio facing the marina. A block to the east is a quaint little bistro called La Mar; ask for Anna. Free internet booth in lobby.
