“Great city break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

We arrived via Jet2 at palma around 10am, left the Malaluf crowd being herded to their resort buses and head past the taxi rank to the local buses.
Taking route one getting off at the Passeig Maritum stop. From there its an up hill climb to the hotel via the steps. Perhaps a better choice would have been taxi from airport 20-25 euro, or if early for the 1am check in get off the bus early in the city have a leisurely lunch and get a 5 euro taxi to the hotel.
Check in was easy, no ques very friendly staff, with time for advice and a chat. We stayed in a room with balcony, very clean and functional, enough storage for a week or long weekend of luggage. Decor is a bit office like but inoffensive.
We arrived on the Monday pool area was pretty quite for the first 4 days, on Friday it got alot busier and towels Started appearing on sunbeds early in the morning. Also pool bar struggled to cope over the weekend. Take the opportunity to use the hotel as intended and explore the city plenty of parks to relax in, beaches within bus ride, or settle on a bench and watch the world pass by on the harbour wall.
Breakfast in the hotel was good value buffet style, hot food regularly refreshed, omelette station, and usual continental breakfast. Freshly squeezed orange juice, enough to set you up for the day.
Staff all ways available and ready to help bar closed at 12 ish which was fine with us, slept well all of are 6 nights, hotel was quiet even when full at the weekend.
Would certainly stop here again, great location, great staff, good facilities and ideal for a city break in a lovely city.

It's hard to pick out what I liked best about this hotel. As I write this review I'm looking out from my 7th floor room ( go high) at the castle nestled in the woods and at the busy harbour scene- simply beautiful. The design is cool and contemporary, very much a city not holiday resort hotel. The Spa is wonderful - aromatherapy showers, plunge pools, heated marble beds plus usual jacuzzi, steam, sauna and more.
Breakfasts are delicious - lots of choices, with a chef on hand to prepare you anything not immediately offered. There's an adults only sunbathing terrace and small pool but there weren't lots of children anyway.
Tip - if you want to rent the bikes, get up at the crack of Dawn to book. Even by 730 it was too late! That was the only minor disappointment of the holiday.
Last but not least the staff. All genuinely seem to want you to have a good time - their service ethic is second to none. Worthy of special mention is Angel - one of the most cheerful souls I've ever met!
I'd have no hesitation in recommending this hotel- in fact I plan to return ASAP!!

Absolutely beautiful place to stay in Palma. Rooms furnished in a modern way made our stay feel super special. Comfortable, well organized, spacious. Shower room - just lovely. Breakfast (€10pp) - so far the best we've ever experienced in any hotels. Huge choice of yogurts, cereals, pastry, jams, fruits, cheeses, meets ( we are vegetarian but didn't have any troubles finding delicious food within the selection offered ) any kind of egg made fresh in front of you, grounded coffee and many more! Anything we asked for was provided by the hotel's stuff in a polite manner.
Pool area is a little bit small and unfortunately it was full of kids who were quite noisy. We only spent an afternoon there and decided to go to the beach for the rest of our stay. The beach ( Cala Major & Cala Ilettas ) can be reached by bus (€1.5) in around 20,25 minutes however it's not the biggest so finding free sun beds can be a bit challenging.
City Centre ( 20 min by walk ) is full of little, cosy restaurants and shops. Airport is 20 minutes away by taxi (€20-26)

My wife and I took an opportunity to spend a 2 day break in Mallorca whilst our son was away on a school trip. With this in mind we wanted a short flight 1hr 45 outbound and only (10 mins in a cab from the airport costing 20 Euros) each way. We booked directly with the hotel and went for a suite with terrace and it was a massive terrace with 2 nice sun beds and a table with 3 chairs and a sunshade. The view was overlooking the 2 Pools below which was nice.
The room had a double bed and a nice bathroom with a large walk in shower and the TV had a number of English channels which was good whilst getting ready yo go out.
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was varied with loads of options from full English to cereal’s, bread, Yoghurts and fresh fruit, we found the fresh and hot, eating outside was also very pleasant.
There was a choice for Sunbathing either a platform decking with a plunge pool (salt water) which was big enough for 2 people at a time really. To enter this area you had to be over 12 so really was for adults without young children.
The larger pool was a good size and was a nice temperature for spending a lot of time in and was not overly crowded. There was a pool bar which was reasonably priced 3.80 Euro for a pint of beer and around the same for a glass of wine.
There is a large supermarket if you turn right and walk down the small hill and turn right again and about 50 yards down on the right hand side if you require. If you turn left at the bottom of the hill and walk a couple of blocks and turn right and then continue straight (around 10-15 mins) walk you will find Santa Catalina where you will find a street full of restaurant’s which are reasonably priced and cater for a varied choice. The reception will mark out the area on a map for you, should you ask.
I would definitely return to this hotel as has a lovely and friendly ambiance and for the money it was well worth it, I only wish we could have had another night :-(

Room Tip: Go for a suite as you do get a nice amount of space! The smaller suites are aboce the restuarant in...

We had two rooms, a junior suite and terrace room, the suite was spacious and comfortable the room with terrace was also comfortable and the terrace an added bonus having the benefit of sun loungers, and table and chairs.

The pool was great, considering this is a city hotel the size of pool and space for sun beds was excellent.

The pool bar served superb cocktails and food from 11am, very good value and the service and staff wonderful.

The breakfast was lovely; excellent choice.

The reception staff were attentive, polite and very helpful offering advise and booking taxis when requested.

The hotel is a 20+ minute walk to the centre of the city or a 7 euro taxi ride.

I can't recommend this hotel more highly.

Room Tip: Added bonus having the terrace. The junior suite doesn't have a balcony.

Hotel looks amazing and facilities are great but experience wasn't as good as expected. Pool area wasn't very clean. Lots of rubbish blowing about and no bins. Only one staff member working at the understaffed busy pool bar, clearly overworked and as a result, tables were left dirty. Had to wait half an hour for two drinks. Bar staff were great but there needs to be another 2 at least. Same 6 songs on repeat at the pool all day long. No staff on hand at pool area and as such we witnessed a couple who were allowed to get very 'amarous' in pool.
Hot cooked breakfast food at breakfast was also cold, even when it was put our fresh.
We had an expensive football top 'disappear' from our balcony on a windy day. We believe it was blown to another balcony but Unfortunately it wasn't returned by other guests. Hotel staff did little to help.
Spa area was beautiful and facilities amazing but had to pay £6 each, which seemed high when gym area is free. Gym was too hot to work out in.
Room was always very clean. Two separate pool areas great as families sat at one and couples at the other. Location is handy. Also left luggage area was left open by other guests so luggage could have been taken. Needs better security/monitoring. 4star facilities but need more staff to provide 4star service.

I spent one night at this hotel having stayed four nights at a 5 star hotel in Palma and I have to say given the price paid and how lovely and clean the hotel is on my return visit this will be my hotel of choice.

Excellent nights sleep, lovely pool and adult sunbathing area, staff are very welcoming infact they are excellent.

My reviews are often critical as I do like to give a very honest opinion on my stay and this hotel really is a very good 4 star choice.

My only gripe (as seems to be common in most hotels unfortunately these days) is that some people allow children to scream and cry without consideration for other guests however I found this evident only at breakfast and obviously is out of the hotels control.
