“Excellent hotel, a great experince, very few things to bear in mind.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

The hotel is a great one with everything you would expect from the brand and the five star status. The staff have been extremely helpful, always willing to offer assistance, very polite and cheerful. We were very pleased with the way they treated us and it is credit to all of them. Nothing was too small or too much for them.
The food was exquisite and both dinner and breakfast were extremely enjoyable. The service was impeccable too. If you book without breakfast, there are two things you need to bear in mind. It costs 29 Euros per person, which is quite expensive, but if you join the MAS loyalty card, available from the reception, then you get 50% for breakfast, 10% off your dinner bill and you can check out at 2pm instead of 12 noon.
The room was excellent. It is worth going for a room facing the marina and the cathedral. The views are stunning and you get all the sun. The rooms themselves are great and beautifully decorated. The balcony is small but it’s really all you need.
The location is good too. The old city is about 20-25 minutes walk on the promenade, which is a real pleasure. There are restaurants, tapas bars and everything else you would need within walking distance. The pool and deck are spotless and the amount of cleaning within the hotel was amazing. The bars and the veranda are also beautiful and they serve tapas if you fancy a snack.
I would not agree with the comments made by another fellow traveller below who said that all the channels are in Spanish. All the digital channels are in Spanish but if you press the channel button down from channel 1, you get all the analogue channels, 33 in total, and there are plenty English channels to keep you entertained.
There are however some minor issues you need to be aware, although they shouldn’t diminish the value and quality this hotel offers. There is no alarm in the room, no coffee and tea facilities, no iron, the sound insulation is almost non-existent so you need to be very quiet and tolerant with others around you, the area at the front of the hotel (the back is towards the marina) is pretty run down so avoid it if you can, there is a lot of noise in the night from night clubs and if you book off season, like end of October, the rooms only have air con and you may find the rooms being a bit cold. There isn’t much you can do other than use the blanket provided and wrap up!
All in all, a fantastic experience, a highly recommended hotel and a big thank you to all staff for making it a great experience.

Spent three nights here mid October. It is a first class hotel. The staff are superb. They were always very patient and polite. The breakfast is wonderful. A wide choice, expertly displayed and very good quality. I had a side view room which was a very good size. The room gave partial views of the bay.It was very well kept and the Clarins products were most welcome. The television gives many stations although could not find instructions on how to use it and obtain English language programmes. Eventually worked it out for myself but I could have asked. Enjoyed the time around the pool although its proximity to the main road is a bit of a downer.
The cost of the transfer from the airport arranged via the hotels web site was very reasonable when using the minibus.
I enjoyed my stay very much.

Room Tip: Make use of the 20 euro per day allowance for each person in the room when you join the loyalty sche...

Very classy hotel. Great service. Large room with a small but high quality bath. Very small balcony. The fitness center was a joke. Three pieces of equipment, none of the a spinning cycle. Very disappointing. The hotel bar was very pricey, demanding 20 euros for a gin and tonic when you could get them for 4 euros right around the corner. Now wonder I never saw a customer there during our stay for 8 days. Also only spanish speaking channels on the TV.

Great hotel and staff. It is worth upgrading to the premium rooms that have the Marina and Cathedral views. Try joining the Melia loyalty club as the upgrade costs nearly halve. Also, the card allows you to take breakfast for 2 people for the price of one which is good as the cost of breakfast is an eye watering 29 euros! The walk to the centre and Cathedral is about 25 minutes along the beautiful Marina walkway or 7 euro in a taxi. There are supermarkets and good restaurants nearby. The pool and pool deck are clean and well serviced for drinks and lunch. A couple of small things that do not detract from the overall quality but would take so little to put right, I am not sure why they don't. Firstly, there are some 44 TV channels, all in Spanish! I have travelled extensively and rarely fond a hotel that did not offer at least a few UK, German, French etc channels. There is also no alarm clock in the room (or any clock, not even on the TV standby) and no tea and coffee facilities. Yes, you can have room service at a price or get coffee on the patio but I like to be able to make a drink as soon as I wake. Other than that, a great hotel in a great location!

Very friendly and accomodating staff. My wife and I were there on our honeymoon and they promptly provided us with a courtesy upgrade. They made our stay very enjoyable. Rooms were beautiful with all amenities. Views were excellent. Location is good, a quick bus ride from all shops and restaurants. Very safe location. Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here! You won't be disappointed.

We were in Palma for a joint 50th Birthday Party. There was 9 of our 23 company stayed in this particular hotel. It is a nice hotel. It is clean and has spacious public areas. Even though I do not swim the pool area was spotless .Any staff members I came in to contact with were very pleasant and helpfull. The only thing my friend likes to swim before breakfast but the pool was not open until after 9am sometime.
We arrived around lunch time on a Monday we got a no. 1 bus from outside the airport, we got off at stop 33 which dropped us at the back door of the Hotel it cost 2.50 euros. We would have been better getting a taxi to the front door as there is stairs at the back. We got a taxi to the airport on the Friday on way back which was 10 euros. We got to reception and booked in with really nice staff they offered us an upgrade straight away for £40 per night. We felt we had already paid enough and it was a 5 star hotel so all of the rooms should be ok. We were taken to room 1016 there was a few stairs,. It was very small but nice enough and it had a balcony(to the left hand side of the pool) which helped a bit. The wardrobe was small I asked for spare hangers which arrived quickly. We were 2 friends sharing, we couldn't pass each other in the room. We couldn't have had room service either as there was no room to lay anything down. They did leave us 2 lovely apples and a welcome note. The toiletries were high quality(Clarins). The 2 single beds pushed together were large and very comfortable and the bedding was lovely. There was no hook in the bathroom for my dressing gown. Didn't book breakfast as I don't eat early. It is £30 euro each but if you join the Melia card you get 2 breakfasts for 30 euros.
If you go out the front door there is a supermarket right accross the road and further down there is a tobacconist and a bank. There is a lovely Perfume shop just outside the front gate. If you are in Palma you should try La Baranda Italian Restaurant(just a short taxi ride).

Our view of the harbor was fantastic. Be sure to get an upper floor. The pool was really first class & the pool towel guy was extremely pleasant and accomodating.. The breakfast was too expensive so had breakfast a block from the hotel for only 5 Euros instead of the 30 charged by the hotel. Would stay here again. My only real complaint was that I felt nickeledl & dimed. In order to get ice we had to call room service at 4.5 Euros per visit.. Hotel also charges for internet usage..
