“Hotell to honeymooners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

How to achieve: Very simple by BUS from airport (2012 price 2,50 euros/person). Just follow sign local buss outside of the airport outdoors. Take first number 1 bus to Palma. Stop 33 is the right one, but when you say hotel name to buss driver and ask one to stop in hotel, they are glad to help. Line 1 arrives “backyard” of hotel. (it is near TITO nightclub which everybody should know) You have to take few steps upstairs to the hotel door which is the black gate. Even if you feel a little bit silly to try to find reception back side of the hotel, just go ahead anyway as long through hallway, some stair and elevator as you are in second floor. Reception is in second floor by elevator.

Hotel: We took upgrade to junior suite with sea view and balcony. It was really forth of paying (big money about the week 360 euros extra beside what we purchased originally but anyway)It was adding value to us. Nice view to harbor from there and room was much better than our original one. Room was convenient, we were taken good care by hotel stuff. Quality was great in service and overall. Hotel pool was the best. Nice man was taking care about us whole day, guiding us to sun beds, offering towels and taking care of security. I was worried about the noice from the street as there is many many discos around the hotel but no noisy at all. We slept without any harm at least 10 hours every night.

No need to buy breakfast necessarily. And unfortunately it was too expensive as everything what one can eat in hotel. Opposite street front of the hotel is supermarket, where one can buy food. About 700-1000m right from the hotel front door there is another bigger supermarket where we bought all what we ate in the morning. Cheap and good quality restaurants all over the hotel, so not really big challenge to find eating around the day.

Distance from city is nice and if not ready to walk some time, buss is always easy and cheap way to travel. You should buy 10 times ticket from *PRESS” kiosk down town. It is only 1 €/trip and can be used among many persons. You can reach hotel by buss number 1 from the city, which stops behind the hotel. Bus number 3 is stopping on the front of the hotel.

Distance from nearest beach is nive. You can walk about 20 min or take a buss.

One should stop apsolutely in the middle of the town in central station. Tiny corgeous Palma has also Metro which can be founded from central station as also bus/train all over the island. We visited Inca by train. ONly 5,60 euros per person.

We visited in the middle of June. Climate couldn’t be better. All the time 30-35 degrees warm but it was windy, so it wasn’t too warm.

Great advantage is city sightseeing bus, which stops just about 200 meters from the hotel. (both sides-> front of the hotel, you find first stop at right, behind the hotel, you can find first stop left) Tickets you can buy from the bus.

Room Tip: Rooms directed to harbour are including balcony and are having very nice view. Rooms are big. Sun is...

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Gran Melia Victoria, and will definitely return but not without ear plugs.

This hotel is wonderful. Highlights: the staff are welcoming, professional and always keen to help. It was a lovely surprise to be given a birthday card and a plate of hand-made chocolates. Breakfast was never a disappointment. The common areas were immaculate at all times and the pool area was never too crowded, and the pool attendant was always happy to help re-position the beds with the sun.

Some minor disappointments: we were in a room under the terrace and suffered the dragging noise of tables and chairs until 1am and then again from 8am as guests, but a change in room would have meant a trade-off from our sea view and we stuck with it. The road to the front is busy and noisy, as is the area generally - Saturday night partying seems to continue until about 4am. The room was quite small and in need of a refresh (fake wax coming from candle lights in the bathroom is perhaps the first feature that should go). The price of drinks in the lobby and pool-side was prohibitive. Without those, it would be a definite five stars.

If you're thinking about booking this hotel, the location is fantastic but stick to the sea-side of the resort as there isn't much to the North (kebab shops mainly). The cathedral and old town bars and restaurants are within 10 mins walk along the quiet path around the marina / port and you can admire the many boats as you go. For what it's worth, we didn't see a single hotel we'd rather stay in so if Palma is the location then this should be your hotel!

Room Tip: You have to accept the noise if you want a view! Best to avoid the pool view rooms which are under...

This hotel is ok and probably better than most in the area. Pretty good location. A few restaurants nearby. The hotel feels old but it's clean for the most part. Nice pool but not much of a fitness center. The wi-fi is a pain in the butt to keep logged on.

Room Tip: Get the harbor view if it's available as the rooms are much nicer and if you are planning to spe...

Just returned from 5 days in this lovely hotel. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, the breakfast was great lots of choice. Lovely and clean pool (salt water pool, best ever) the hotel is located on the Marina front approx 15-20 mins walk into Palma centre. But this is a nice walk along the Marina front, if you dont fancy that the bus service is very good (stops outside hotel) and is only 1.50 euros into Palma and you can get the number one bus from/to Palma airport for 2.50euros (Bargain no need for taxis!) Palma is a great city, lots to see and restaurants very good standard and not too expensive.

Room Tip: If you can ask for an upgrade to a room overlooking the marina and pool. Also if you book room only...

Spent a weekend for a celebration at this five star hotel. It is with great sadness that I have to complain because it could have been so different. Neither I nor my wife speak spanish and I felt that, along with us being a very ordinary looking couple resulted in being looked down on from most of the staff. This was an expensive treat for us and I expected everything to be five star. The views of the Bay are stunning and the room was clean and so elegant but the service was more miss than hit. We obviously didn't fit in here and would not want to make a return visit.

Room Tip: Dress to impress or be ignored.

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights in June on our honeymoon. The hotel is nicely maintained, and located in a convenient spot on the waterfront. We could easily walk to nearby restaurants for meals. We walked in to the old city in Palma a few times (about a 15 minute walk), and a cab ride back was less than 6 euros.

The pool area is definitely the selling point of this hotel-- chairs are comfortable and we didn't have to get out too early in the day to grab a chair. We spent a few days by the pool and found it to be very relaxing. Only downside is that the pool bar is very expensive.

We upgraded to a sea view room, and were not disappointed with the view. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The bathroom could use an update, but it still wasn't bad. We were on the 6th floor and found it to be a little noisy on the main promenade at night. We opted out of the expensive hotel breakfast, and instead got breakfast at cafes nearby for far less money.

The hotel staff were nothing but accomodating during our stay. They helped us to plan out our day, and assisted us in making reservations for excursions. We were sent complimentary cava and desserts during our stay, and the staff certainly made us feel special during our honeymoon.

If I had to do it all over again, I think we would consider staying on another part of Mallorca, closer to a beach on the northwest coast. However, if you would like to stay in Palma and be central to everything, I would recommend this hotel-- the pool and the sea views are worth it!

Room Tip: Sea view rooms have a great view but are a little noisier.

As my title says it is in the best part of Mallorca and location could not be better and I have been to Mallorca 3 times. This is a very prestigeous hotel and staff are fantastic. I guess I can only complain about the rooms as I find them more like a good 3 star hotel than a 4 or 5 star. I recommend that the hotel pay close attention on how to improve their rooms to really represent that 5 star glory they deserve.
