We went to this restaurant for lunch after reading favourable Trip Advisor reviews, and it was fairly near the station for getting the train back to Soller. The waitress who greeted us and took our order was lovely, showing a genuine friendliness & warmth we found disappointingly rare in our stay in Majorca. The waiters were more surly and rather arrogant, sadly.
We ordered a variety of tapas, and judging from the price, were expecting something special.....yes, the presentaion was special, but the portion sizes were ridiculous, and yes, we know what to expect from tapas, being regular visitores to Spain. We ordered a platter of Spanish cheeses with accompanying quince paste etc for 8 euros and were staggered to be presented with the tiniest slivers of chesses imaginable, the sort of bite-sized taster one might be offered to sample in a delicatessen. Our tortilla was cooked the Spanish way, still runny in the middle, but they said that if it wasn't to our taste they could cook it a bit longer for us - we asked them to cook it for a minute longer, but 15 mins later it still hadn't appeared, and when we asked the waiter about the tortilla's wherabouts he was rather sniffy and said it would be ready soon !? Anyway, when it finally reappeared it was virtually cremated.
What a shame - someone is obviously trying to do something a little different, but it doesn't really quite work yet.
