Four, or was it five cruise ships in port meant the Palma lunchtime trade was at bursting point, so wandering up a side street just off the main drag we found this place which looked a very attractive tapas style restaurant and lo, still had a table available - I think it was the last. Can't say the staff, who did not appear Spanish, were overjoyed to see us but they found time in their schedule to park us at the table - then left us to wait for 15 minutes twiddling our thumbs, presumably to adjust to the light whilst they went about their important business elsewhere or maybe to find a spare menu.
Its quite cramped, the tables are close together, quite small, but nicely dressed. The upstairs section which was closed looked much more spacious and probably a fair bet for the evening.
However, stern expressions were the order of the day, smiles were definitely not on the menu, nor was help in choice, so having gratefully placed our order we sat back to wait, and have to say when the food arrived it was passably fine. But not a very friendly attitude here; we surmise derives from serving tourists whom they assume they will never see again, which is fair enough because in our case, they won't.
