“Big and good!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

Seated 5 km. outside the center of the small town Lakua is probably the most luxury hotel of the area...Big rooms without superb views (just big houses around) but with nice facilities. Also, very clean.
The breakfast buffet is somewhat average. The reastaurant is excellent with a nice chocie of meats and a very good stuff even without speaking modest English! But they serve you fast and gently...The stuff in reception is very friendly and helpful.
Not a cheap one hotel and no for travellers that looking for bargains...Sure is not a bust for the money that someone will spend...

This Hotel is very elegant and very clean.
It is also very beautiful and peaceful. The stairs are so nice, the breakfast place is very clean and comfortable. The entrance door is a turning door which I personally love and a normal door.
Also the toilet's are very clean. There are sometimes different activities to enjoy!

Chosen as a stop-over heading south from Bilbao to southern Spain having arrived on an evening ferry. The hotel is very close to the main road network - but otherwise in a residential suburb with no amenities anywhere close-by. Large underground carpark, but plenty on street parking right outside. Modern style reception and lobby, check-in process good. The room and bathroom were huge and luxurious (maybe slightly tired in places).
The hotel feels like a business hotel more set up for seminars/conferences than tourists.
The main restaurant was either basic buffet - or expensive tourist type menu. The bar is a small kiosk in the lobby. It lacked atmosphere and was expensive (and empty). The cafe bar attached to the hotel wasn't good - we thought we had wandered into the staff canteen (also empty).
We headed out and found a little cerveceria 10 minutes away where we had a great dinner and drinks for around €20, sitting with the locals.
Skipped breakfast - expensive, checked out easily and stopped off at an excellent truck stop on the motorway for the usual Spanish breakfast - excellent and cheap.
Would use the hotel if in a hurry, but for the money could do much better elsewhere.

Best buffet breakfast I have seen for a while and taste as good.Rooms are luxury and worth the money.Staff could be more friendlier!!There is a nice shopping center near by.
We used the hotel as a stop over to drive to France. Disappointment that you have to pay for the spa facilities!!!!

We stayed here for 5 nights recently due to an event and I think the rate we received was a special rate.
Hotel has a large reception area with very welcoming and friendly staff, all of whom speak English which was welcome as my Basque is limited to nil. Situated on the outskirts of Vitoria it is about 2.5km walk directly into the centre, or walk 0.5k and jump on the tram (1.25e per journey or 3.8e for a day ticket).
Very modern hotel with every amentiy you could want. Rooms large and well appointed with so many lights and switches we got confused, beside lights aswell as spotlights for reading. The only down side was we had booked a double room and got a twin so not sure if they actually had double rooms but the beds were right next to each other so it made no difference to us.
The minibar was well stocked and stayed that way throughout our stay - prices on a par with the hotel main bar, although there is no tea and coffee facility in the room.
Bathroom was fab, loads of space, and not just shampoo and foam bath to use, but also bath salts, perfume spray, toothbrush and paste, razor, cotton buds, sponge, condom, and there's bound to be something else I missed! Towels were replaced every day, whether we replaced them on the rack or not.
The hotel bar was 7.50e for 1 beer and 1 coke.....walk next door into the cafe bar and pay under 5e for the same 2 drinks, sometimes served by the same person who was running between the bars! Drink wine and it will be even less.....a glass of red was 1.30e depending on what you went for!
Can't really say anything negative about this place, we didn't have time to try out the leisure facilities or the spa....maybe next time :-)

Great rooms, friendly staff, great value. Only downside was restaurant which lacked atmosphere and was a bit pricey.
Hope to stay again.

We have stayed at the Lakua hotel for 3 night's, superb hotel with all neccesary facilities
free parking, Wi-Fi, and reccomended service - hotel located at the northern access road to Vitoria about 2.5 Kms' from city center, with easy shuttle connection upfront - we were there as group of basketball team & fans so price was lower than usual, certainly the optimal choice !

Room Tip: Hotel is only 4 floors high, rooms on the parking side should be quieter, However they are all nice...
