“Great place for pintxos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

Really great food and quick service with very good prices. Only problem with this place is that it´s very popular so there are always lots of people around.I was there in early december and there were not many foreign visitors but I was told that during summer there are many visitors from around the world.

“Small but great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2012

A very small place (if you have to be indoors). Nowhere to sit - you stand by the bar and order pinxtos. But it's definitely worth it. Friendly and quick service, and the hot pinxtos are delicious. This was one of the best food experiences we had in San Sebastian. As many others have already noted, the veal cheeks are fantastic. But there were other more esoteric food there as well, such as the pig ears.
It's can be a bit difficult to find, at the corner of a small street in the old city, but definitely worth the search.

“What a surprise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

I did a lot of tapas bar hopping in San Sebastian, but this place was for me hands down the king of them all. Incredibly interesting menu with very creative takes on more traditional comfort food. It's no nonsense food excellence without the pretense. And I mean excellence. No fancy pants food trickery here - but you will not believe the flavors these guys can concoct from their ingredients. Not too expensive and a relaxed tapas bar atmosphere. It's all about the food here. Simply amazing.

“La cuchara feliz”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

The place is the same size as most places in San Sebastian. The servers are good and efficient, they deliver the pintxos in no time, and most food is prepared right in the moment which adds quality to the food. The price is just as most places with gourmet tapas Borda Beri, A Fuego Negro, Bar Nestor. Order the Pato a la Pekines (great ration price to product value), Vieira (The best tasting of the ones we ordered), and the Pulpo Roca (good tapa overall) avoid the Canelon if you do not like not well cooked pasta. The Basque people cook it like that, it's their tradition, but the stuffing is good.

“Best.Tapas.In.Town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

Excellent quality, typical tapas plates with a slight twist. Bar staff are super friendly. And good location, slightly off bigger lanes in Old Town in a square with some outdoor seating if you're lucky. Was difficult not going back every day for the week we were there. Highly recommend.
