“Good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013 via mobile

My family stayed here over christmas and in general it was fine. I agree with the reviewer about the noise outside, so don't stay here if there's a festival. But fine for quieter times and litre budgets

This B&B is located in the heart of the old town. It was fantastic to walk out the front door and amongst it all. Owners were very friendly and happy to help us. Daily cleaning by the owners meant that they were around to answer any questions we had & give us tips.

I would generally agree with all the reviews about this pension. Clean, friendly, ideally located in the old town etc. Some noise at night and if it's hot you need the window open but sharing the bathroom was not a problem. A card with a phone number to ring was placed over the bell so we found that confusing on arrival, we were made to feel very welcome and the owner's daughter spoke some English. Our biggest problem was finding the place, because of all the one way streets we eventually parked and walked to the pension. Once settled we parked the car in an underground car park which worked out at a Euro an hour, so quite expensive if you are staying for a few days. There is is free parking but it is on the other side of the city. A good thing to do if you don't need to use the car.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms face the street and are of a similar size.

Located right in the middle of old town, SS. Staff speaks little english, but is friendly. It has 3 bathrooms that you share with the 6 rooms, but it's kept clean throughout the day and night. The staff did a good job keeping the place tidy, including cleaning up our room when we stepped out for the day. They don't have any snacks or drinks from vending machines but there's a small convenience store just steps away. Most rooms or street-side, so it can get noisy but if you can sleep through it, great! It doesn't stay loud too late into the night.

This little pension is cosy and friendly with clean, bright rooms and a nice private atmosphere.

There are only about 6 or 7 average size rooms, so it is very very small, just a hallway, the rooms and bathrooms. There are 3 bathrooms with showers so we never had to wait to use the facilities. They were clean and soap was provided in each.

The owners clean each room daily and provide fresh towels, which is nice.

Rooms are key entry and there are two locked doors at street and floor level, so it's quite secure.

You need to be aware that the owner goes out for lunch usually between 4 and 6, and sometimes leaves for short periods through the day, meaning there is no one to let you in at this time. If, when you book, you advise of your arrival time, they seemed to be accommodating in trying to call you to make sure someone was there. Just be aware that you should probably advise of your arrival time to be sure.

Also, another small downside is that it can be quite noisy at night, depending on where your room is. This is because the pension is above one of the busy streets of the old town and there are lots of bars and pintxos restaurants where people hang out until about 2am. The windows are very good at blocking noise but it is still worth noting if you are a light sleeper!
