“Edorta is ideally located for city centre living”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014

Really enjoyed our four night stay in the Edorta last week. From the point of view of price/quality
ratio, it is best described by the French term "Bon Marche", which should really be translated as well priced. If you like staying at the heart of a buzzing city with friendly people and a warm street life, the Edorta will meet your needs. The rooms (at least the one we had) are spacious and thoughtfully decorated. As might be expected from a historic, city-centre building, sound proofing is not to the standard you might get in a modern, chain-hotel. But, most of all, the staff are really welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel at home in this historic Basque city.

The people who run this pension are lovely, nothing was a problem, Reception 24 hours with CCTV. Great position in the old town (with beach/port very near). with a sea view, just. Though parking can be difficult if hiring.

Room Tip: Really clean (maid was excellent) with shared bathroom (with 1 other room) not being an issue. Take...

Just spent two nights at Edorta. We found it to be comfortable and welcoming and ideally placed for exploring the old town. The room we had was large as was the bathroom and we had a warm and helpful welcome.

This hotel is located right in the heart of old town San Sebastian. The hotel is clean with spacious rooms and is so close to everything. We loved that we could walk anywhere from this hotel, including the train station. The weather was a bit muggy while we were there and it would have been great to have air conditioning. Since we had to leave the windows open all the time, the loud outside noise did come in. The Spaniards are outside and lively late into the evening, so it's best to get on a local time table when staying in this hotel. The noise does quiet down dramatically after 11 pm. I would defintely stay here again; although, I would think twice about it during the hot summer months.

The room was spacious, clean and a good size. The shared bathroom was a bit shabby and the shower struggled to get hot enough. The location in the old town is fantastic for pintxo hunting and a glass of txakoli with some great bars just on the doorstep.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

We, a family of 4, booked 2 rooms with shared bath for 2 nights. My husband and myself had a room with 1 double/queen bed and our teenaged children had a room with 2 single beds and we shared a bathroom located outside in the hallway. The hotel section we were in also consisted of another room, with a private bath (so basically, the shared bathroom was only shared between our family of four).

The rooms were extremely clean and so was the large bathroom. This is one of the cleanest low star rated hotels we have stayed in.

The location is incredible....in the "old town" of San Sebastian, with bars and shops all around. Less than 5 minute walk to Playa Concha. My husband and I enjoyed going "bar hoping" and tasting the pintxos, our 16 year old daughter enjoyed shopping (Zara and Mango stores located across Calle Boulevard) and our 13 year old son had a blast playing in the waves.

Take your shampoo, bar of soap, and hair dryer. The bed sheets are clean and so are the towels but the body pillow is hard. You will hear the people staying next door and above you, as the walls are thin but all guest were very considerate and respectful. We went in the off-season (October) and found the room too warm so we slept with the windows open (no air conditioning) and the noise coming from outside (either too late at night or too early in the day) was not a problem for us.

Our children loved the hotel and wanted to stay longer. If we ever go back to San Sebastian, we would likely stay there again.

We enjoyed out stay at Pension Edorta. We had a large colorful room with a bathroom on the second floor. The hotel is in the heart of the old town and steps away from the Pinxto bars and near the beach, a very lively area, but our room was quiet. The staff was helpful and our room nicely cleaned when we returned in the evening. We would definitely return to this hotel again.

Room Tip: Some rooms have private baths and some are shared. Our second floor room with a bath was very quiet.
