“One star luxury”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2012

The hotel has an exellent location close to the beach and shopping area and only 10 minutes walk from the old town. Also the parking is only a few blocks away. In the front of the hotel there are couple of parking slots to leave and take on your bags.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are rather small, but just enough for one or two night's stay. The breakfast is limited, but just enough to start the day.

Some other cities three star hotels offer about the same. So don't be affraid of one star rating, the hotel is better than many others that have one star. The hotel has renovated and it is very clean. It can be recommended for a short stay.

The hotel is in a great location. It's near the beach and a short walk to the parte viejo (the old town) where most of the renowned tapas bars are located. It's clean and the staff is friendly.

The drawback, is that the room is very basic and there are basically no amenities - and at a rate of 130ish euros a night. There is no where to really hangout outside of your room. Plan on going elsewhere for breakfast, which is not an issue as there are a couple of hotels a few doors down that are very nice (e.g. the Niza).

They provide no complimentary bath products, outside of the hand soap machine attached to the wall in the shower.

Room Tip: If you are driving and staying here, purchase parking from the hotel. It's worth it as public...

Fab location for this hotel - just a 3 minute walk to the beach and only about 10 mins walk from the old town and all the lovely food!! :) Unfortunately we were in room 112 (if I remember correctly) which was on the first floor right on the road and next to the stairs. As the double bed was backed up onto the wall next to the stairs we were unfortunately woken each morning by people going up and down the stairs (as it reverberated against our wall) and then again by people (mainly from hotels) using the bottle bins on the road outside.

Everything else great about the hotel though - basic facilities but very good value in quite an expensive town to stay. The staff are all fantastic, some of the best service we have ever experienced even over and above some 5* hotels!! - going out of their way to help us with reservations, directions etc

Would stay here again - but in another room.

Room Tip: don't pick room 112 - rooms not on road should be a lot quieter.

Great simple and basic place. For a one star, its been better than many four stars hotels i have stayed at. It's clean, new, functional. Will definitively stay there again

Was dubious of a1 star and was pleasantly surprised as this one star was much better than many 3 and 4 stars ive stayed at

My room was amazingly small, but by looking at the fire exit map of the hotel, I think I had the smallest one. The air conditioning didn't work and my window opened into a covered atrium shared by apartments. I could also hear everything my neighbors were doing (thin walls). I found the front desk staff to be incredibly helpful though. The room seems a bit expensive for what you get, but I guess San Sebastian is a popular place for tourists (I was there for work). It is very close to the beach, and there are lots of fancy shops and bars within walking distance.

in a good location near to the promenade and beach. room was okay. there was a disco across the road it opened at midnight and shut at 6am alot of noise through out the night from people going there. hotel breakfast adequate did not serve any other meals and hotel did not have a bar. i would only give it a 1 star and that only for its location

Room Tip: do not get a room facing the disco u will not get a good nights sleep due to the noise

My husband and I stayed at the Zaragoza Plaza for five nights from September 26 to October 1, 2011. Our room had a nice little balcony with a pleasant view. The room was equipped with a rather weak hairdryer (bring your own dryer and toiletries) and a fully stocked mini fridge. However, you are allowed to remove the items and use it for your own food. The wifi worked great in the room on my tablet and the television even had a nice English channel. Our room was a bit small, but was functional and clean. Although the hotel was not in view of the ocean, it was less than a minutes walk away. It is in such a good location that we never had to take public transportation the entire time we were there. Everything was easily within walking distance. Breakfast was included in the price of our room, and although there seems to be a strict limit on what you are allowed to take, this wasn't really enforced. We were very satisfied with the amount provided. The breakfast room also stays unlocked at night, leaving us free to use the microwave and dishes. The staff were so helpful and friendly; the most so out of our entire visit! I went down multiple times a day to ask questions about food and attractions. The woman at the front desk (mid-length brown hair, possibly Eva?) even helped me translate the Casino's dress code rules on their website! Emanuel went out of his way on many occasions, going as far as leaving the building to point me in the right direction! The staff at the hotel made our visit extremely enjoyable. Overall, we were very pleased with the Hotel Zaragoza Plaza and would absolutely stay there again.
