“One of the most beautiful congress halls in the world”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

It's in the best location and I like the feeling of space inside. It's a little bit of a labyrinth, but after your first day there you understand the layout.

“Ugly building in a beautiful location”

I have not been inside the Kursaal but I personally think that it is a seriously ugly building in a beautiful location.

“Beautiful Modern Architecture”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

The Kursaal is a big modern building that is lighted at night and is beside the River Urumea, at the confluence of the river and the sea. This building is the Kursaal, the auditorium of the city and site of the international film festival, which is held every year in San Sebastian. It was designed by Rafael Moneo, a famous Spanish architect and winner of the Pritzker Prize of Architecture. It opened in 1999. It is also a convention center with many exhibition halls and meeting rooms.

“Fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

We met a group of French guys on the town in San Sebastian a couple of years ago and spent all night partying with them. They invited us to come see them play the next night and we went. We thought we were going to some bar to see their band - but it was a sold out show at the Kursaal. Turns out we'd been partying with France's number one pop star.. great venue, and the show was incredible. We loved it.

“A wonderful concert”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2012

We went to a concert at the Kurasaal. The acostics were great and the price was a mere 6 euros. One of the selections was a piece composed for the symphony orchestra and a basque traditional instrument that looked liked a series of 2x4 boards on a bench. Very percussive!
