“Great hotel above the city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

The hotel is located in a quiet area up the hill from the main part of the city. It took about 20 minutes to walk down the hill to the city centre, and it was a 7 Euro taxi ride home. You can also take the bus although we didn’t end up investigating this option during our stay.

The hotel is clean and modern with nice rooms and friendly front desk staff. The beds are moderately comfortable (but not terribly cozy) and the pillows are thin.

The weather was warm for December (+23C during the day) and our room was very warm and unfortunately the cooling system would only put out warm air. We left the balcony door open at night but the consequential street noise was unfortunate.

The walls are a bit thin and there is a fair amount of sound transmission between rooms. The hardwood floors are nice but when someone next door is wearing high heels the clacking does get a bit annoying.

Parking is free out front and the Internet is also free and fast.

The staff are great, very friendly and pointed out all of the highlights on the map on what we should see in town, directions for transit and walking, and always greeted us with a smile when we entered the hotel.

Overall a very nice hotel with great staff, good location, and I would recommend this property.

Room Tip: Ask for extra pillows and make sure your heating/cooling is working properly.

“Not bad, just... average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012

It is not a bad hotel. Spacious rooms, clean bathroom with a bath and all the condiments you need (great sage washing gel - just give it a try it). But... well, it just has no own style, nothing that would distinguish this hotel from thousands of other 3/4 star business hotels around the world.
They have a nice restaurant though. And a very slow reception desk...
The hotel is not in the centre of San Sebastian, but on a steep hill, so it is quite nice and easy to get to the city, hovever not necessary easy to come back (especially after a few glasses of Rioja or Txakoli...).

“Good Comfortable Hotel, great staff, located slightly out of town.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012 via mobile

This hotel is well worth a visit for all round comfort and quality of service. It is located about 1.5 km away from the old town - about €8 in a taxi on the top of a steep hill. But, in my opinion you won't find the same level of comfort or service for the price closer to the Center of things. I highly recommend it & thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

We stayed 3 nights in total as part of our holiday to this region of Spain/ France. We were travelling independently - planes, trains & automobiles!

The comfort is that of a good business hotel, our room had a separate living and bed room area and a reasonably large modern bathrom. The beds and pillows were good quality & comfortable too. What really stood out was the helpful, pleasant staff especially on reception & the man in the coffee bar in the mornings. We ate one night in the restaurant & found the food to be good.

If I was staying in San Sebastien again I would stay here.

“Value hotel, not central but easy walking distance”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

Stayed here for a Saturday and Sunday night, had trouble finding central accommodation where we could park a car. This hotel offered free parking which is what swayed our decision.
The building is relatively new, in a residential location rather than a tourist location.
The rooms were bright, clean and spacious, but nothing special.
Staff were helpful and friendly, giving us advice on what was happening in San Sebastian (film festival was on, explains why hotels were all expensive on the Saturday night!).
We didn't eat here but the restaurant seemed popular with locals, which is usually a good sign.
The beach and old town are about a 15 to 20 minute walk away, and we found it nice as it gave us an opportunity to explore on our way to and from town.

“Good value but not central”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

The hotel is located in a residential area of San Sebastián (on top of a hill) and not too close to the main sights. The Casco Viejo is a good 30 minute walk downhill and of course longer when coming back! Public buses stop close to the hotel and they are quite frequent during the day.

The room was clean, very spacious and comfortable, with ikea style furniture. Reception personnel were friendly and helpful.
