“Wonderful tour in SanSebastian / Basque Country”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2012

As this was the first experience for us to use a local travel agency, we had been wondering a bit if could make contact well with it. But the accurate and quick response from A Taste of Spain made us relieved completely before our start to Spain.
The programs of the culinary tour were very well organized and the hotels we stayed were perfect. Especially we enjoyed the cooking class and the enjoyable lunch at Sociedad Gastronomica. Also the visit to the winery of Thakoli was so fascinating. The fresh seafood lunch at the fishing port Guetaria with a rural seascape was unforgettable.
We’d like to try another tour of A Taste of Spain in the future.

“Exceeded my expectations .”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2012

Miguel Ullibarri was astute to our needs and delivered an agenda that was exactly what we went to Spain for. As a professional chef and owner of a restaurant company,I returned with a greater knowledge 0f the food and culture of Spain. My only hesitation to book again is that the American Express card is not accepted by "The taste of Spain".

“Fantastic Basque Experience in San Sebastian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2012

Our time in Basque Country was really a fantastic experience. From the luxurious and peaceful Villa Soro Hotel to the expertly guided Pintxo tour to the amazing cooking class and lunch at a historic Gastronomic Society, Taste of Spain did an incredible job of coordinating every detail. We finished our Basque Country adventure in Haro, La Rioja for a wine and olive oil tasting and lunch at the restaurant Las Duelas. We will be sure to spend more time in the wine country on our next trip to Spain.

“Beyond Our Expectations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2012

We arranged a privately organized culinary tour of Bilbao, San Sebastian and the Rioja wine region with A Taste of Spain, which I found through extensive research in the internet. This was a mother/daughter trip -- two sisters and our daughters. We had such a marvelous time, getting to know the Basque country through their food, wine and friendly beautiful people. Our hotel was situated right across the Guggenheim where we had a our avant garde lunch at Nerua and a private museum tour of the Cerra and Brancusi exhibits. We then visited the Rioja region and was hosted for a tour, wine tasting and unforgettable lunch by the owners of one of the oldest wineries in that region. On to San Sebastian where we had two cooking classes in between walks on the beach, shopping, and sightseeing. The first cooking class was in a gastronomic society housed in an old historic building overlooking San Sebastian. We went to the market to buy all the unbelievably fresh fish, vegetables and ingredients we used for our cooking. The second one was up in Igeldo Hills with beautiful Natalia who shared her home situated in a 13 hectare farm and her culinary expertise with us. Those pequillio peppers with lobster and foie gras stuffing were to die for! The highlight of this gastronomic program was dining at the eponymous Arzak and Berasetegui. We met both of these culinary masters -- what a treat!

The tour was arranged so tastefully and seamlessly by A Taste of Spain, with the organizer checking along the way how we were doing. Everything they planned for us was beyond our expectations. Our guides (Elena, Maria, Biki and Cesar), chefs, and chauffeur were so knowledgeable, personable -- simply excellent. The wine region, the markets, every meal and pintxos we had, will forever be etched in our memories. We hope to return to Spain soon, and we will definitely go with A Taste of Spain again and again.
