“Used as a base for exporling the Region”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2014

Nice Hotel with clean and comfortable rooms. Service was good but you did have to have some patients with the bar staff. They could only service one customer at a time.
The downstairs area is a little clinical and lacks atmosphere but the rooms were excellent although the integrated shower / wardrobe arrangement was a little off putting.
Bed was excellent, but storage was at a premium which meant we couldn't unpacked properly for a 12 day stay.

Room Tip: Make sure you get one on the front with a balcony

The hotel is located in a quiet area of town, about 15-20 min from the heart of la concha beach and just 5 min walking from the beautiful Palacio Miramar overlooking the bay (take the short cut steps). If you do not mind walking, it is nice but you can always catch a bus (3 euros) or a taxi on the way back (8-10 euros to the center). Rooms are very modern and comfortable, and the people at the concierge are always willing to help with any need. Parking is kind of expensive (13 euros/day). If you are able to get a good deal like we did (through Orbitz) it is an excellent solution to visit the wonderful San Sebastian.

There were a number of annoying things, the curtains and windows were not designed to be opened without a struggle everytime. The single beds, were dangerous as my poor partner rolled over from his side and fell between the beds as they moved apart. The shower is great and the room service staff were cheerful and rooms were cleaned well. The whole place seemed flat and there seemed to be a 'whatever attitude'. We walked into the town or the bus stops right outside the hotel. It was great exercise walking up and down the hills. If you like a resort type hotel you may enjoy this more than we did. Better to eat out as food is pricey and great choices in the main town.

A modern hotel, clean, with very comfortable beds (although two twins put together to make a king.) Bathrooms are very spacious and have every amendity. Outside of town, but if you are a walker, it is a lovely 20-25 min walk to the beach and town. Bus will get you there and back easily.
The only think I don't like is the breakfast buffet is way overpriced (17 Euros) and there isn't any other choices close by.

The hotel itself was very good. the room we got was exactly what we asked for (shower only) however we were at the back of the hotel with no balcony. while we are not sun lovers we always liked to sit on a balcony around 5 o clock and watch the world go by with a pre dinner drink. now the food, As we had booked in bed only I enquired upon arrival (as there was no tea maker in the room) what the cost of breakfast for the 9 nights we were there. Now get this €17 each for breakfast or €306 for our stay. Nearly laughter out loud. luck was with us as on our first morning just at the bottom of the hill we found a little coffee shop that did Tea or coffee with toast and marmalade for €3.50. this suited us great. My whole expeariance of San Sabastion was the city is lovely but did not cater for English speakers at all. No English menu's and nothing to do after 9 at night (we are in our late 60's) Beautiful city to walk around but felt 4 days was enough. Pat

Smart hotel, easy check in, parking right in front - perfect if you travel in a car. Rooms are big enough and have a balcony... Friendly staff, like everywhere in San Sebastien. Overall a "GO FOR IT"!

Hello Everyone,

San Sebastian is a lovely town but I recommend that anyone who comes here avoids this hotel.

The exterior of this hotel is dark and gloomy and looks like a council estate with balconies on the front. The views which they claim are seafront are non existent. The view from the front of hotel is in fact of a road and a small housing estate across the road.

Upon arriving to our room I noticed the bed sheets were stained and what looked like Pubic hair was on the centre of the bed. This is a first for me, having stayed in hotels all over Europe. Made me feel physically sick when i saw it. At Almost 130 euros a night for a 4 Star hotel, you do not expect to see such uncleanliness.

In terms of Service, the room service was generally quite late, and on top of this they slap a 5 euro charge for everything you order?? Room service ceases at 11pm aswell, I would expect it to be 24 hour in most hotels. The bar in the hotel was tiny and understaffed.

Breakfast is an additional 17 Euro, and is mediocre at best.

The hotel is located quite far - almost 30 mins walk from the town centre. Buses come every half hour but drop you quite far from the town centre so we had to spend additional money on taxis every day to and from the hotel.

I had an item of clothing which was quite expensive removed from my bag. Upon complaining to the Manager of the hotel, nothing was dione. It was clearly taken by one of the staff cleaning the rooms. I explained to him, items this large simply do not disappear. He refuted the claim that one of his staff stole anything. This is the first time I have anything stolen from me in a hotel. I explained to him that my partner saw the item of clothing the day before we left,. How can something disappear in a hotel room which is locked?? the only explanation was that it was stolen.

I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone. Given the price and the amount of inconveniences that were encountered I would avoid it like the plague.

Thanks,
