I was a bit hesitant going into Hotel Niza given some of the unenthusiastic prior reviews, but we stayed as a couple for 4 nights at Niza this month, and had a lovely stay. We requested a sea-view room and although we were told they were all booked up, we ended up getting one and I was thrilled! We were on the 3rd floor and I think being able to look out onto the beach and beautiful water every day and evening accounted for 75% of my appreciation of this hotel. If we didn't have a sea view room, I'm not sure we would have been so happy. The room itself was clean and bright, as was the bathroom, and included basic amenities and soaps etc. Yes, the lobby is a bit dated but it is charming and pleasant. NB: the wifi worked spottily in our room, so we often had to come to the lobby to get online. The reception was not particularly gracious or friendly, but one of the girls (a young brunette) was helpful with our requests. Overall, San Sebastián is a great destination and this is a relatively affordable lodging option considering its prime location.
