The owner of the pension was great in giving tips about san sebastian, even though he spoke hardly any english it worked with french, spanish and body language!
Nice rooms, quiet place but excellent location in the central parts.

We had a wonderful stay at this pension. You cannot get a better location (2 blocks from the beach), and the owner is really hospitable. Miguel will help you with anything and is very welcoming. We stayed in a double private room and were very pleasantly surprised. The bathroom was very clean and newly renovated. The bed was comfortable and we had a TV and fan. There were several other people staying there, but noise was somehow not a problem. I would love to stay here again!

San Sebastian is a truly lovely place! The Amalur owner is a sweet little Spanish man who graciously showed me directions on a map he provided me with. He told me the best sites to visit and good areas to eat/ go out at night. Location is great, close walk to everything...beach, sites, restaurants, shipping, bars & discos. The rooms are average, but clean. The bathrooms are a bit small--one shower and toilet for 6 persons-- but good water pressure. I met some great people here. And most importantly, as a young (22) female traveling solo I felt safe there!

I stayed at Amalur for two nights while in San Sebastian. Miguel was a fantastic host. He took great care of everyone there. The beds were comfortable and although there were 8 or 9 people in a room, you felt like you had your own space. There is a small kitchen as well with a computer/internet. Miguel provides beach towels and has maps, books etc to help you during your visit. I met some really great travelers here as well--from Holland, Australia, the US, etc which made my trip more fun. The location is perfect--a short walk to either the bus station or the beaches. It was also very clean. My only complaint is that the locks on the lockers didn't work, but it was not a problem.

As a solo traveller, I moved to this place after a few days in a surfers hostel in the city centre. The change was unbelievable.
The rooms are huge, the beds are comfortable (goodbye bunk beds!), there were no queues for the bathrooms.
The staff were superhelpful and I really really enjoyed my stay there.

Miguel was so kind and helpful, we felt safe in his hands. We stayed in a 4 bed private room with ensuite, 3 girls and 1 boy. The room was cleaned every day and was immaculate. The common room is a great place to meet other travelers. Its a 5 minute walk to the old town, which is great as it is out of the hustle and bustle. San Seb itself was in the top 3 places we visited in our 6 month trip to Europe, absolutely magic.

Thankyou Miguel for making it such a great experience.

This is a wonderful youth hostel to stay in. Manuel, the owner, could"nt be nicer. He helped us find a wonderful restaurant to have paella and wine and was a great overall help. The rooms were clean and simple. If you're going to stay in a youth hostel, this is the one to be in.
