“Great value for modern pension in San Sebastian!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2012

We stayed in the ground floor room which was very spacious, clean and comfortable.
The windows were covered with the hotel logo and positioned at the top of the room which was at street level, so you are unable to look out of them.
When the windows were open we could hear the street noise and trains but this didn't bother us.
The shower was very nice and had basic toiletries.
Breakfast was an extra charge of 4 euros pppn and consisted of OJ, coffee and toast. As we were on the ground floor, this was delivered to our room.
Location was 20mins walk from the bus stn, 10mins from la Concha and the old town and 5mins to Zurriola beach. It was lovely to stay in the Gros area as we were able to avail the great pincho bars nearby and it was relatively quiet compared to the hustle of the Old town.
You always had to be buzzed in to enter the pension which made it feel safe. The staff were always smiley and friendly.
We would definitely stay here again on a return visit to northern Spain!

Aída is a perfect place to rest your head. A 12 minute walk to the Parte Vieja of SS, it features very small rooms but it is functional. Clean and modern accommodations boasting a tiny balcony, making it slightly more appealing as well as spacious. It is not, however, a place to linger. The balcony, with a view onto railroad tracks is noisy but still a plus.
No morning coffee in house offered, is a minus in my book though.
Reception is friendly and helpful. Possibly one of the more affordable accommodations available in center of SS.

Room Tip: Balcony adds space, though noisy.

We stayed for 5 nights at Pension Aida, staff are really friendly & helpful.

We had a room with a balcony which was cleaned everyday, great wifi connection & not far to walk to the beach and the old town.

Access to the pension is via an intercom which is good as no one can just walk in off the street.

We will be returning to San sebastian in the future and will be booking to stay here again.

Room Tip: choose a room with a balcony

We stayed at Aida for four nights in May. The room was spacious and clean. The staff was fantastic. All were very friendly and helpful. They were more than willing to help us make reservations and understand the bus schedule. The hotel is located across the river from la parte vieja, but it's only about a 5-10 minute walk. We would definitely stay here if (when) we come back.

Didn't expect the place to be this great. I thought it will be like a room with an en-suite. I was surprised to see a living room, an open kitchen and the room is bigger than a hotel room. What a bargain.
Near the train station... and very close to the bus stop from the airport too.... Within easy walking distance to the Old Town.
Has great tapas at the back street when I'm too tired to walk to Old Town at midnight - just ask the receptionist and he will point you out the good ones.
Definitely will come back here.........

The staff are so nice! We have one of the rooms facing the street which is lovely! As per some previous comments, the walls are very thin, so keep in mind if you're easily woken. The room is clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast was basic but sufficient - coffee, orange juice and toast. The only negative so far is the toilet makes a constant filling sound, but as you can't hear it with the door closed it hasn't posed a problem when trying to sleep. Be sure to check out the pintxos bars on the hotel side of the river. They are less touristy than what you find in the old section. Personally I prefer the spots where the locals choose to hang out! Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is recently renovated and is certainly a great value for money. Common spaces are cheerful and neat, hotel provides free wi-fi in the room and a spacious lift. The men at the reception desk (24h) didn't speak English very well but he was helpful and arranged us not expensive parking place next to the hotel. The room we peaked was small but with a little balcony and a comfortable bathroom. Everything was clean. The room wasn't very quiet, the window was looking at the small street and when it was open (and only then) we could hear a little noise from the larger street nearby. But it didn't bother us and we slept well.
When we realized that we left something at the hotel, the staff ensured us that it was found and is kept for us there.
We truly recommend this hotel, we had a really pleasant stay there for a reasonable price. It was on a short walking distance from the old part of the town with great tapas bars.
