This hotel is in a FANTASTIC location - a short but beautiful walk to the centre of town. The hotel itself and its rooms are small, modern, clean and functional. Very helpful front desk staff. Wonderful value for money. We stayed just one night to see the museum - the hotel was exactly what we needed.

This hotel is perfectly located to enjoy the sights and sounds of Spain. It is right on the river if you want to take a beautiful walk or run around major tourist attractions. It is also within a 10 minute walk of the old square surrounded by great places to shop and eat. The area reminded me a lot of Amsterdam and Copenhagen. The hotel staff speaks English. The breakfast was excellent. When you venture out, it might be important to have an interpreter handy. Most cab drivers do not speak English.

Our third stay at Hesperia and the best. The hotel room was so modern and clean. We had a wonderful view of the river. The staff are very friendly .

I stayed at the hesperia this past weekend and it was an absolute joy (and a steal at only about £45 a night). We had a large room on the 6th floor with a large bathroom with separate sink area with 2 sinks, no river view but we did have a good view up the hill out back. 5 minutes walk to the Guggenheim, just over the bridge from the very convenient tram which goes to the old town and a 15 minute walk to the old town. It was also a few minutes walk from the funicular where you can get a great view of the city. There is also a supermarket next to the funicular entrance and a number of bars selling pintxos in the area. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. I'll def be back to Bilbao as I loved the city and when I do I'll be staying here again.
