“Visiting in autumn - walkway cluttered with litter”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

The river has a terrific long paved walkway along it on the old city side. However, our afternoon stroll along it one autumn weekend revealed an overly large accumulation of litter which detracted and deterred us tourists. This riverside walkway has so much potential. Even though it is a stones throw from the famous basilica and square, there was not one commercial thing happening. The could have been ice cream vendors, street performers, market stall holders, a kids play space. Such a waste of a great public space.

“Look at it, stroll by it, cruise on it, or kayak on it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

The winding river Ebro is what really makes Zaragoza and there are lots of ways to enjoy it.

The river is just a stone's throw from the Cathedral and a number of pretty old bridges cross it, whilst paths run along either side allowing for strolling or running to other parts of the city including the beautifully landscaped facilities of the 2008 Expo which have the feeling of an Olympic Park.

A number of river boats run up and down the river; we caught one which departed from just outside the Cathedral and run up to the Expo park and back and it was a lovely way to enjoy the river.

We also saw a number of people kayaking on the river and I believe they can be hired, perhaps from the Expo park.

What really made the river special for us as bird lovers was the high number of storks which can be seen along the banks allowing for some great close-up photos of these magnificent birds.

“Wide River”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

A good experience in Zaragoza is to walk along the river banks of the Ebro River. There are sidewalks and one can find peace amid the bustle of the city. Do not miss the Stone Bridge.

“Worth a long walk”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

The river could be cleaner but views along the bank are stunning. There are a number of bridges crossing with both old and new being very interesting.
