“A good choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

A great welcome by friendly reception staff was a good start. Our room, a junior suite, was very spacious, clean and, being on the 9th floor, had good views across the city rooftops. The beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well and quietly. And it stays on even when the room key is removed from the power switch so the room is always at a pleasant temperature - how often one finds that is not the case in some hotels!

The bathroom is a good size and well stocked with those little things that matter and the shower is more than adequate. The towels are not particularly soft but are very large. The CD and tape music system in the room is a nice touch - but in our room didn't work - but we didn't need it anyway. Likewise the large flat-screen TV worked well but was also hardly used as there is so much to see in Zaragoza. The in-room free wi-fi is one of the fastest we've ever found in a hotel.

We arrived on a Sunday - not a good evening for in-hotel services as neither the bar nor the restaurant were open though the receptionist did his best to provide us with a coffee when we asked.

Parking is underneath the hotel but is a public car park. Secure and with video surveillance but not cheap (what city centre is!) though, as a hotel guest, you do get a discount.

All the main tourist attractions are within walking distance as are many and varied restaurants and bars which is fortunate as the room service seems to be a limited and expensive selection of Japanese-style food. You are also nearby to the tram line and all the main bus routes so getting around is easy if you don't want to walk.

We made a good choice.

Great staff but the hotel but was a little run down and needs attention. The gym was very small, and unkept. The breakfast was great, the waitstaff was friendly and responsive. The reception staff was awesome, they sat down with me personally to discuss a large number of special arrangements required for my party.

I enjoyed my stay very much. It is a walking distance to main city attractions. The service was excellent, both in the reception and in dining room. Breakfast buffet had a wide range of choice, but no vegetables at all (only some fruits). The room was spacious, with free hi speed wifi. My view was the neighbor building - which was too close (room 603), and there was a feeling that the hotel had better days. I also used fitness center which was reasonably equipped. Certainly will go back, if in Zaragoza.

Yes , indeed ... the Hotel is old , but still worth staying there .
Stayed Sept. 15 - 18 , room 315 .
Unfortunately only Japanese food available but still a fantastic breakfast buffet with freshly prepared eggs .
Garage 17 Euro per day for Melia-guests !! ... and beds too hard and not comfortable anymore , however , are my 2 complaints .
But will be back for sure when in Zaragoza .

The Hotel Meliá is a nice hotel, in Zaragoza downtown. You can go everywere just by walking. The hotel is 5 stars but is a little bit old. The corridors and rooms does not look like a 5 stars hotel. The breakfast is very good. Good point is that the price is not really expensive to be 5 stars hotel.

We have stayed in this hotel 3 times and we like it because it is so close to the pedestrian area and the Basilica. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but compared to other hotels we stayed at that week, the bathroom was on the small side and the wardrobe space totally inadequate. We have only eaten breakfast in the hotel and it is quite pricey at €16 if you pay the full price
