Description: Espacio Eslava offers the opportunity to enjoy Seville on every level. On the ground floor amongst the Andalusian hustle and bustle of our tapas bar. In the relaxed atmosphere of our restaurant. Upstairs within our inviting apartments. And to top it all off, on our terrace with unbeatable views of the rooftops of Seville. The neighbourhood of San Lorenzo is a favourite haunt for locals and one of the most memorable discoveries of visitors to the city. Calle Eslava may be a very short street, but nonetheless it is home to two plazas, two churches brimming with history and two points of reference for great gastronomy in Seville: our tapas bar and restaurant. We've added to this four boutique apartments in which you'll feel right at home. Opening hours at Restaurante Eslava:
Tuesday to Saturday from 13:30 to 16:00 and 21:00 to 23:30. Sundays from 13:30 to 16:00. Closed on Sunday nights and Mondays all day. Opening hours at Eslava tapas bar: Open from 12:30 to 00:00. Closed on Sunday nights and Mondays all day. The kitchen is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 13:00 to 16:30 and 19:30 to 23:30 and on Sundays from 13:30 to 16:30.

“Great modern tapas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2012

We sought out this tapas bar after it was recomended by a local. It took a bit of finding as it is not in the main part of town, however I am so glad we persevered as when we got there it was really busy with people waiting which is always a good sign. The food was amazing, a modern take on tapas and to the highest standard. The staff are helpful and efficient and explained that you can have tapas, a half plate or a full plate. We shared two half plates for lunch and this was enough.Be prepared to wait it will be worth it.

“Didn't live up to the hype”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

Hunted down Eslava after reading the reviews on TA and the Michelin Guide. Pains me to say, it fell short of what I was hoping to be an amazing tapas experience.
Arrived around 2pm to find the the place (restaurant, bar and outdoor seats) half full. Quite a lively atmosphere with plenty of service staff around. Service itself was prompt and efficient, with attentive staff.
I ordered 5 different tapas, and must admit was quite disappointed with the finish. While all dishes were well presented, the execution was not what I would expect from such a highly regarded place. Ribs were not tender, fish full of bones and slightly overcooked, duck very overcooked.
Perhaps it was a bad day for the kitchen staff, however after eating at 4 different tapas places in Seville, this had to be my least favourite.

“Very good food, but restaurant service lets the side down”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

Visited here for lunch at the tapas bar and for dinner in their adjacent restaurant.
The food in the tapas bar is superb ( 5 stars for this). I recommend the razor clams and the pigs cheeks. The ribs are very good, but perhaps just a little too sweet for my taste.
It is best to make the effort to get here early,to take advantage of the small number of bar stools that are quickly taken.
From this vantage point you are close to the blackboard menu, and to the fiendly bar staff, who are quick to recognise if you are still hungry or thirsty.
The restaurant is very different and very elegant. The restaurant door is always locked so you have to ring a buzzer outside to attract someone's attention.
Tables are nicely spaced and laid out in white linen with spotlessly clean cutlery and glassware.
The evening my wife and I dined there, we were the only non Spanish people in the restaurant.
Not a problem, but it does annoy me when I am given a menu in English, only to find out later on in the evening , that the menu printed in Spanish, had a few more choices!!
However the main event was delicious........more pigs cheeks and nicley cooked sea bass.
Whilst waiting for desert to be served, it was clear that our table was required, and we were made to feel rushed and not offered coffee.
The restaurant therefore has a 3 star rating, thereby producing an overall 4 star review.

“Great service, great taste”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Though the menu is limited, it is very very different from the standard menu thats available with a majority of tapas bars. We found this place crowded both during lunch hours as well as late into the night. Would highly recommend the 'grilled fish in green pepper' dish.

“Excellent in every way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

I wholeheartedly agree with all the reviews given here. The food was undoubtedly the best we had in Seville. Particularly good was the mackerel, the deep fried anchovies (light as a feather), a declious spinach dish and the hake in pepper - this was a small green pepper stuffed with wonderfully tasty hake. We were lucky in never having to wait long for a table but a good time to go is after the lunch time rush, mid to late afternoon, still good though standing by the bar with a glass of wine. Staff were really friendly in helping to choose from the menu. In fact I left a bag behind with my camera and other stuff in it, about 20 minutes later when I remembered and went back the waitress knew straight away and produced it from behind the bar! This is a must even if you are only spending 24 hours in Seville.
