What happened? Last year we had a great meal in this restaurant; a definitely 5* experience, very expensive but worth it. The minute I walked in the door I had the feeling something was wrong, the hostess had a clipboard and greeted us brusquely, then led us to a table which was not the sparkling starched napery of old but looked tired and vaguely grubby as did the personnel's outfits. It felt like a canteen: a waitress arrived with a bread basket and more or less chucked a breadroll (no choice of breads) onto our plates, our meals arrived separately, waiters served and took away from the wrong side, the wine was not replenished correctly. And the food was a similar story, my husband's tian had broken coming out of the mould and looked mushy and was tasteless, my warm scallop salad (one of their signature dishes) was tasteless, vinegary and cold. Mains were similarly disasterous, the only thing not skimped on was salt! We didn't have dessert or coffee. The bill was over €200 for the worst meal I have ever had, I ate tapas for €3 on the side of the road in Seville that were higher quality than this. We asked in our hotel what the story was: Didn't you hear, they said, new management. Avoid.
