“very pleasant stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

we booked room 29 for 4 nights from nov 10-14, 2013. it's a room on the top floor of the hotel. not a huge room but adequate with a lovely spacious bathroom. water pressure is adequate, there are bathroom products available (shampoo, bath salts, shower gel, body lotion, toothbrushes/toothpaste). the bed was comfy with warm blankets and many pillows and we were glad the room had a heater/aircon, it can get cold in sevilla at night. the hotel is in the santa cruz neighbourhood, ideally located. you will have to accept some noise at night though, they are cleaning up the streets at night and you will hear it. but that is not a biggie in a city hotel and we expected it.
a very good tapas bar, el pasaje, is only 90 m away and you can also walk to the cathedral in a few minutes. we did not try this, but you can rent bicycles and segways at the hotel. on every floor you have a mini fridge where you can get free water bottles (33cl) and there is a 1l bottle of water for you everyday in your room. the staff at the reception desk was unobtrusive and friendly. we were recommended a free walking tour starting at the hotel which we enjoyed.
breakfast is another matter. we booked breakfast but only went there twice. the warm breakfast is served very late, after 9 a.m. and the choice is rather bland, especially for vegetarians. also the staff in the restaurant was rude and stressed. you are better off grabbing a bocadillo/tostada and a coffee in one of the many little cafés in the neighbourhood.
nevertheless we enjoyed our stay in the el rey moro, thank you for your hospitality.

Room Tip: if you do not have lots of luggage, try to get the top rooms on the roof, number 28 and 29

For us the relation cost-value was not that great. I believe booking directly with them offers better deals. Rooms are a bit small, but the hotel building is very nice and the staff was very attentive. Bikes retal is for free and is a good option to visit El Parque de Maria Luisa. Good hotel, but compared to other options in Andalucia, this was not such a great deal.

This is a small, intimate hotel hidden in the maze of Seville's streets but near to all of the attractions. It is very welcoming - the staff are excellent and speak perfect English for those of us whose Spanish lacks a certain something ... called Spanish! The hotel has a small number of nicely decorated and comfortable rooms (albeit small in our case - number 26). The facilities are very good, including the jacuzzi on the rooftop terrace where there is a quite nice view across the city. Breakfast was more than adequate and we even got a nice cup of tea in the evening in the restaurant on more than one occasion. I was especially impressed with the staff, so it bears repeating - they were all very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant and happy experience. Thank you El Rey Moro.

Room Tip: Don't really know which rooms are better - number 26 is small-ish and has a very soft (too soft...

My wife & I stayed two nights in November, 2013. As we booked the hotel only two days out we were quite pleased with the accommodations. We booked directly with hotel and chose a superior double - which was not much more than the standard room. This price included breakfast, use of bicycles & jacuzzi. Also 2 free drinks in their restaurant. We had a top floor room (#26) which had a queen size bed, good sized bathroom and faced the courtyard. Restaurant served great Cafe Americanos, lattes and had a great variety of breakfast treats. Hotel is a short walk to the Alcázar Palace and Sevilla Cathedral.

Room Tip: Go for the superior double and request a top floor room facing the courtyard.

Simply excellent. As university researchers, we travel about 3 months a year and this is now on our top 5 list of hotels. We spent 7 nights here in November, 2013. Our favorites were: use of the bicycles, jacuzzi overlooking the giralda, excellent breakfast from 8 - 11 a.m. (very nice woman working there), perfect location, unique furniture in our room, attentive front desk staff, free walking tour (English or Spanish), free bottled water, free wifi, excellent patio space, very quiet (we had an inside patio room), great restaurant right in the hotel (try the 5 tapas surprise for 10 euros so you can learn more tapas!), and plenty of bathroom accessories (most of the usual + toothbrush/toothpaste, razor/shaving cream, bath salts, & comb, except no conditioner, so those with long hair might want to bring a small bottle.), and library of fun travel books with a computer station. No complaints.

Room Tip: Note, if you are coming from the U.S., you may be surprised by the much smaller bed sizes in Spain...

We stayed here for 4 nights in November 2013.

The location is wonderful - on a narrow pedestrianised alley in the maze of streets which make up the barrio de Santa Cruz, the ancient heart of Sevilla. It's a few paces to the Cathedral, the Alcazar and any number of bars and restaurants. We walked everywhere!

The hotel is attractive with a large inner courtyard. The breakfasts are varied and filling and the staff are friendly and helpful.

We stayed in room 28 on the top floor - spacious, attractively furnished, looking over the rooftops. The only problem was being woken up every night between midnight and 1am when the dustbins in the street were emptied!
