“Nice and cheap choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2008

I stayed there for a week. Clean and confortable rooms (but not to big) with air conditioning. Friendly staff. I travelled alone and felt safe there. I would stay there again definitely.

Stayed here for Semana Santa 08, mainly because no other options available but it turned out to be an excellent location. room was small but clean and comfortable. staff were friendly. location was safe and crucially during semana santa, it was quiet. It's 2 minutes from the main shopping streets and about 10 or so minutes from the cathedral. There are plenty of local coffee shops and bars nearby which are not overrun with tourists or have tourist prices! Various processions come within quite close proximity if that is what you are after. It's also very close to the bus station - plaza de armas.

Great location, very reasonably priced and good value for money, despite the unfavourable exchange rate! Rooms basic but comfortable and clean. Our Spanish came on in leaps and bounds as the staff, generally very helpful, friendly and elderly ,don't speak any English. Street noise can be a bit of a problem if you're a light sleeper so invest in some ear plugs. Sevillia is fantastico.

The staff at Hostal Museo speak very little/no English but are very friendly. The room we stayed in was small but immaculate and had a TV and air conditioning. The beds were very comfortable but the shower was tiny! It's about a 10 minute walk to the cathedral and about 5 minutes to the main bus station.

We stayed in Room 1 for 2 nights. There was a lot of street noise: in the morning, there was construction, and at night, there were motorbikes and people out on the street talking. The hot water in the shower ran out quickly. It felt like the staff had cut corners a bit more than average - leaving us without soap and hot water. Also, when asked for a restaurant recommendation, we were sent to one out of business. All that said, the location was fine (just a few blocks from the wonderful supermarket in the basement of El Corte Inglés department store) and reasonably close to bus service. Also, the price was right.

When I booked a double room they didn't say to me that the room was near the reception (2 meters).

So: strong noise all night long despite my riot!
(the congierge didn't understand english, french or italian).

Terrible.
It's sad because the hotel is well located and clean.

I paied 58€ per night.

Be careful, do not book the rooms number 1 and 2!!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 20, 2007

My wife and I spent 3 nights in March. It's a 20-minute walk to the Alcazar and Cathedral, but it's an interesting walk. We had room 31, which is the only room on the 3d floor, and is a very quiet double room. (The elevator only goes to the 2d floor.) The hotel is on a little-used side street, so rooms right on the street would still be quiet most of the time, but you might hear occasional motorbikes, etc. Our room was small, like most European budget lodging, but the bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. The people who worked here were all nicer than usual in Spanish lodgings. They actually smiled and were happy to answer questions. As usual in Spain, there is no breakfast here, but there are good (if smoke-filled) places to eat at the end of the block. TV got CNN plus various Spanish channels. The main hitch to consider is driving and parking in this area. The streets are all extremely narrow, and although at certain times (eg, 11pm) you may find free parking on the streets, during much of the day, the streets gridlock in a truly horrendous traffic jam. If you have a car, either find a spot late at night, or else park it at the Plaza de Armas garage, over by the river, and leave it there. The hotel validates your parking coupon, reducing the 24-hour rate from 16 to 12 euros. Overall, the place had a nice atmosphere, and we would definitely return.
