“Value accommodation in an expensive city”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2012

We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment and it's very comfortable for 2 people. It's clean and located in a great location. However, the lobby and courtyard areas were quite charming but the room was very basic and need remodeling. The breakfast, which was served across the street at Hotel Murillo, was okay, mostly continental breakfast items with a couple hot items (eggs and "ham"). We were able to walk to all the major sites. For those who plan to use the laundry facilities, please note that it's really just one washer and one dryer, so plan to be flexible with your time. Close to many great restaurants.

My family of 3 stayed in a one-bedroom apartment with a sofa bed for 3 nights from Sep 7-10, 2012. Apartment is next to Hotel Murillo in the charming Barrio Santa Cruz district. We were completely satisfied with the location, accommodation, service, and breakfast (served at Hotel Murillo). For those who like to travel light, there is on-site washer (5 euro including detergent) and dryer (2 euro). Breakfast included hot and cold items, various cuts of ham, breads, and fresh fruits, juices, milk, coffe, and tea. Our apartment was also very quiet at night. The narrow alleys in Barrio Santa Cruz provided much charm, character, and repreive from the elements in the old Jewish quarters.

Hotel was quite easy to get to. Upon arrival at the Seville airport, we stopped by the TI to obtain a map of Seville and the staff helped with the most direct and easiest route to the hotel. From the last aerobus stop, it only took about 7-8 minutes to walk there. The Catedral, Alcatraz, Flemenco Museum, Bull Fight Museum, and Museo de Bellas Artes de Sevilla, were all within easy walking distance.

Seville is by far the most interesting and worthwhile cities we visited in Spain on this trip, which included Barcelona, Figueres, Girona, Ronda, Granada, Segovia, and Madrid. The tapas in Seville is far better than the other cities we visited. Every restaurant we tried in our 3 days visit were good to excellent. (As a side note, would recommend skipping Granada as the only attraction it has is the Alhambra, which to us is over-rated.)

We booked a studio apartment and actually got a one bed apartment therefore, we had much more space than we were expecting. The apartment consisted of a good sized bathroom, bedroom and kitchen/living room. Very well appointed apartments, the only thing the kitchen did not have was a kettle and also there was no safe in the apartment. Air con worked very well, which is very important in Seville. Staff at apartments were very helpful and polite. Cleaners seemed to come in the afternoon, so we were not woken by early cleaners! Although we were woken by noise from the street!

The apartments are located in the old part of town on a small cobbled street, a taxi will only be able to bring you so far and then you'll have to walk a little bit (few mins). The location is close to all the sights and attractions, with the Cathedral being just a few minutes walk. There are plenty of Tapas bars, Flamenco shows etc close to the apartments. From the Santa Justa train station it cost €8 in a taxi. There is a taxi rank about 5 mins walk away from the apartments at the Cathedral and from here to the airport it cost €25. All in all I couldn't fault the location, the only draw back from being in the absolute centre of the old town is the fact that street noise may wake you, we asked for a higher level apartment and got it, so this might help with the noise.

I would stay here again and would recommend to friends and family.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor to reduce street noise.

It is a good place to sleep, clean neat, nothing special. Average.

I believe the experience of my stay can be summed up by my experience with the beds in our room:
The room came with two Twin beds that where supposed to be put together. I asked the woman "Bunghleo" I believe was her name to put the beds together and she stated that she would send someone up shortly. 6 hours go by and I ask again and someone came up shortly there after. He fiddled around with the beds for about 25 minutes (he obviously did not have any clue what he was doing) and said "I will be right back" and left.
I have traveled much and I knew by the look on his face that he was not coming back... and that was confirmed... from that point on no one acknowledged us or asked if the beds where taken care of they just ignored us and hoped we did not ask about it again.
Needless to say it took my 2 minutes to figure out how the beds went together after the worker left and we never had another issue.

The location is in a great section of town and if you are looking for a place to sleep that is clean you can look no further... but I do believe there must be better values with much better service in Seville.

We had booked a nice big apartment with 2 bedrooms and a living room for the 2 of us, hence it was spacious. It was clean and well appointed with comfortable beds and bathroom. The most important point is that you should always ask for a room on the higher floor as this is right in one of the small streets of Seville, people are always passing your room at all times of the day and this is a big disadvantage. Someone else had pointed this out too in the earlier reviews too on trip advisor. Overall good place provided you get a room on a higher floor.

Room Tip: Insist for a room on the higher floor!

This was a really nice place to stay whilst we were in Seville, we felt as though we were removed from the madness and the tour groups the moment we stepped through the doors. We also managed to avoid the numerous large groups of students staying at the Hotel Murillo. Our room was large and the kitchen was great for preparing breakfast. Our only annoyance with the room was the fact it had two single beds pushed together rather than a proper double but that is often the case in continental Europe. The staff were always willing to help us with any request we may have had and seemed to have our best interest at heart. All in all a really nice place to stay.

My wife and I stayed 8 days during June and were very pleased with the room, the location, and the service. We stayed in one of the two-person efficiency apartments, and while we did no cooking, it would have been possible, as the kitchen was well equipped with cookware, plates and utensils and there is a grocery store in walking distance. The room was clean and, while not large, spacious enough for two people to be comfortable. Everything in the room was up to date and the bathtub was large enough and comfortable enough to actually take baths (the shower head also had nice water pressure). The air conditioning, tv and refrigerator worked great. The location can’t get much better, just a short stroll to the Cathedral and with lots of dining options. There is a terrace with great ambiance across the street (literally ten steps away) at the Hotel Murillo that is available to those staying in the apartments. The bartender there was cheerful and handled drink orders efficiently. Overall, the staff was pleasant, professional and helpful. Having never been to Seville, we were a bit skeptical about staying somewhere unreachable by taxi, but this turned out not to be an issue. It would only be an issue for those needing the services of a bellhop, as the Barrio Santa Cruz is small enough to navigate for first-time visitors capable of hauling their own luggage. There are signs to the hotel, and most of those walking around are either fellow tourists or restaurant/hotel workers who are more than happy to give directions. Also, Parque María Luisa and the river walkway are great for walking and running, and both are nearby.
