“Charming hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2014

Unfortunately we had to wait for our rooms to be ready and we had no assistance when we arrived with our luggage or parking our car unlike other hotels that we have stayed at while in Seville. However, the rooms we received were lovely but on the small side. The owner did give us a lovely bottle of wine for the inconvenience at the start of our stay. The bathroom we had was very small but did the job. We had a lovely decking to sit out on to enjoy the usual sunshine that Seville offer and the bonus was on one night we had fireworks and did not have to move from our room to see them - bonus.
This hotel offers some fascinating rooms to explore - all to do with music.
Breakfast was held up on the roof top, although the dining areas downstairs of the main hotel are decorated lovely too. The hotel has a spa that enables you to relax after a day of sightseeing or for just wanting to cool down from the sun. Most of the staff are friendly, breakfast staff could smile a bit more. Overall, we were all pleased with this hotel and would consider staying here again. Location is great in Old Town and close to good restaurants and attractions. Good security.

Room Tip: Suggest a larger room in the main hotel section. You do not access all rooms from the main entrance...

Musically themed rooms. Great service, accommodations, and location to sites. Large bathroom. Quaint footpath to the street. Taxi could not travel to door but that was no problem. Would definitely return here again.

We were thrilled when the cab driver told us to walk to the hotel from the corner - the street was too narrow for the car to take us closer. Hotel Amadeus was a beautiful gem in a spectacular setting. We were shown to a rather large room only to be told after returning from an hour's sightseeing trip that we were mistakenly given a larger room than what we had paid for. They would move us to another room - at 11:30 pm! We refused to move until the next morning. We were given a tiny room, with a half-sized armoire for a closet and a view of the air shaft. Breakfast at the outside terrace was lovely and the hotel is well-located. Ask specific questions upon booking about the type of room you'll receive. You could end up in the closet!!

Room Tip: Be sure to ask about room size prior to booking

If you are looking just for having a relaxing cup on the terrace or by staying in one of their rooms, the Hotel Amadeus will surround you with a wonderful service and detailed things. You can spend your time there playing the piano, the guitar or even the harp! Or you can just relax and listen to the classical music played every day.

Room Tip: Always contact directly to the hotel when booking a room!

A lovely place close to the cathedral in the heart of the quaint old town, Rooms, though not large, were pretty with a nice private terrace where you could have your breakfast. Bathrooms were a tad small but did not take away from the overall experience. What is worth mentioning is the exquisite service provided by Christina in making bookings (also a one-hour flamenco class requested by me) and going the extra mile in helping guests in whichever manner she could (she also retrieved my lost cap from a cab). I would certainly recommend this place whole-heartedly to fellow-travellers seeking a peaceful, pretty place with a heart.

Room Tip: We chose a quiet room on the top floor with a private terrace of our own.

Charming pretty much describes it. Room was small, but clean, well appointed and typical For Europe. Has a roof top terrace where I highly recommend you take breakfast vs in your room or downstairs. Location right smack in the heart of Santa Cruz down the street from cathedral. absolutely would stay here again

Room Tip: we had room 111 which was very nice but small (typical for Europe ). it had everything we needed so...

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2014

Stayed here 3 nights in June, 2014.

Clean, comfortable bed, adequate but not great shower, no room to room noise, significant noise from other sources, inadequate room to unpack, excellent a/c, helpful staff, beautiful rooftop terrace, highly overpriced continental breakfast.

A *perfect* location, ONCE YOU GET THERE. Extremely convenient to all the attractions.

We had ordered a "superior" room, yet, there was literally no room to unpack your suitcase. (?!) We objected, they moved us. Marginal improvement.

The layout is around a central atrium, very pretty. The problem is that an inconsiderate guest or staff can disturb a lot of people. We had problems with the staff life-testing the dishware at 7am on multiple mornings.

The breakfast is only "continental" (carbs only), and is 16Euro. A beautiful setting, but, IMO, overpriced and not to my liking.

Tip#1: (getting there by car). You will be coming down Calle San Jose de etc. etc. 50 yards BEFORE you get to Calle Farnesio (which is actually a 6 foot wide alley), there is, on the left, an entrance to a private parking garage. Scope this out on Google maps BEFOREHAND. Double-park THERE, (at the garage entrance where they tell you no stopping), and horse your bags to the hotel. THEN, park in one of the hotel-dedicated parking spaces in the underground garage ½ mile away. The garage has 3 levels underground. The hotel will give you a key card to get to level -3, where you can find one of the hotel-assigned spaces.

Tip#2: Inspect your room before you settle in, with an eye towards whether there is enough space to actually unpack. If so, great. If not, ask for another room then and there.

Overall, this review has come out a bit more negative than my actual experience, but that is because I'm trying to tell you how to avoid the pitfalls I have encountered. I would stay here again, but with the expectation that my second stay would be better.
