Stayed here during Feria de Abril, every hotel in Sevilla inflated their prices. Hotel Murillo seemed like a reasonable place to stay according to reviews and in contrast to what other hotels were charging. Feria de Abril in my opinion is not as big as Oktoberfest and does not warrant the inflated rates that every hotel was charging. Our room was very small and you could hear the people in the room or hallway nearby not to mention the outside. For us the hotel was more of a hostel or dorm room more than a hotel. I would not recommend staying here during a visit to Sevilla there are many others to choose from.

Room Tip: Booked on the hotel´s website for the best rate.

We booked the Hotel Murillo and were shown across the street to the Aparmentos Murillo. THANK YOU management!> The room was huge, had a fridge and stove (kitchenette) was QUITE spacious and CLEAN. No downside. Do not think a cab is going to drop you at the doore at either of these properties, they are in Sevillian alleyways, but not a bad walk. GET GOOD DIRECTIONS, do not trust Google Map, it has the wrong place (2 blocks off, but in those alleys, that's alot. Plan on getting lost, it is dificult to navigate the area, but you are littterally 300 feet or so from the Cathedral. Great find with a value price.

Room Tip: Ask for Apartmentos

We booked Murillo after looking at TA, and it paid off. The location is fantastic - take the bus from the airport E2.40 each way and have the correct change - and it is only a 7 minute walk from the last stop - El Cid. Walk through the Murillo Gardens and turn left half way down. Davide on reception is fantastic. It was our anniversary and we got the best room in the house - a split level-room with dressing area, sitting area and bedroom. to cap it all there was a lovely roof terrace. There was no table or chairs, but on asking at reception, we arrived back to find 2 chairs in place. The breakfast is sufficient, and the cafe cortado sets you up for the day. Despite the big noise about how dear Seville was, we found we were able to eat at a range of restaurants, having everything from tapas to a 4 course meal with wine and/or beer from E20 (for 2) to E65 was easily within walking distance from Murillo. We loved it and are even looking at flights to go back already - having only arrived back at 3.30am this morning. We have stayed in a range of hotels from 6*+ to 1*, and to be honest, I would not pay the money to stay anywhere else in Seville. If you want to feel authentic in this beautiful city, stay close to the action - stay in Murillo.

Room Tip: Chill 38cent smarket beer in sink with ice.

This hotel is in Seville’s wonderful Jewish Quarter and is great proximity to everything! Our room was clean and met our needs. But…the shower was tiny and had a way of cycling from temperate to hot and cold then back to temperate. Our room was in the front of the hotel on the 2nd floor. There was no insulation from sound. If someone coughed in the front of the hotel, we heard it. The café/wine & tapas bar that is in the front of the hotel was delicious and well located but we heard everything that went on down there until about 2 am when things closed up – and you heard all that too (the metal doors being pulled down, the shops being set up, the trash being dragged down the street, etc.). In the end it was a basic hotel that was perfectly located to everything we wanted to do. And we didn’t stay in our room all the time when there was the whole of Sevilla to see!

Room Tip: breakfast not included

We spent four nights at the hotel. We found the reception staff to be excellent - they were always friendly and helpful. The dining room staff were great - always polite and good natured - even when we managed to knock over a glass of orange juice on a very busy morning. They just changed the tableclothes, napkins, cutlery, cups and glasses with a minimum of fuss.
All the staff we dealt with had a sufficient command of English to understand us and to explain what we needed to know.
We had e-mailed the hotel in advance to ask for quiet two rooms - we got a prompt reply and two very quiet rooms which were of a good size with nice bathrooms having baths and showers. The rooms and bathrooms were cleaned to an excellent standard every day. The only small snag with the rooms was the lack of drawer space which could have easily been overcome by replacing the elegant table with a chest of drawers.
Another drawback for some visitors might be the fact that all 41 TV channels were Spanish speaking - but this was offset by the free Wi-Fi service and free interent terminal in the reception area together with the provision of the same day international newspapers each morning at reception.
The hotel offered a buffet breakfast which was included in the price we paid. It was an extensive buffet including fresh fruit, cereals, cold meats, pastries, bread and toast - you could certainly start the day full up!!
It would have been a waste of time for the hotel to offer any other meals because there were dozens of bars, cafes, and restaurants providing a range of cuisines all within a short walking distance.
The hotel had a great roof top terrace with views of the cathedral (see photograph) but be careful not to wander into the two rooms which open directly onto the terrace mistaking them for the public toilets!!
One small problem with the hotel was its small and rather slow lift but it was only three storeys high so it was easier to use the stairs most of the time.
There was no vehicular access to the hotel but taxis could stop in Santa Cruz Plaza just two minutes walk away.
The hotel offered good value for money and could not have been better located for exploring Seville on foot. We are not quick walkers but we could get to the Cathedral, Giralda and Alcazar in less than 10 minutes and to the Bull Ring, The Golden Tower and River Cruise Terminal and the Flamenco Museum in less than 15 minutes. The main museums are slightly further away but are still walkable.
Just round the corner from the hotel in Santa Cruz Plaza was Los Gallos - which offered two flamenco performances each evening. Each show lasted for two hours. It is not cheap at 30 euros per person but this did include one drink but we enjoyed the show and the full audience seemed to think it was tremendous.
The hotel reception provided a general ticket booking service but we did not use it because we had pre-booked all of our tours.
The hotel is located in the Santa Cruz District of Seville - the old Jewish Quarter. It is an absolute warren of small roads and alleyways most of which are not shown or named on any maps - not even Google Maps!! It is worth spending a couple of hours just wandering around the area of the hotel to find the best routes to different destinations - this avoids getting lost and wasting time when you really want to visit a particular place!
If we ever stay in Seville again there is no doubt the we would try to book into this hotel first - we had a great time.

Excellent place to spend a long weekend, since is located in the historical centre at 5 minutes from the cathedral and 10 minutes from the airport-bus stop.
Kind and competent staff, charming location, nice terrace.
The only little problem is that the walls between the rooms are thin and you hear other room's noise
