“ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! LOVE IT!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2012

I do my research before I book a hotel and the feedback was pretty good.

The hotel is perfectly located in a nice part of Seville, a couple of short blocks from the tram stop which takes you into the historic town (2 or 3 stops away depending on where you want to go) and it only cost a couple of euro. It is also very close to the bus & train station.

Maria Luisa park with the Plaza De España (2 of the top 5 landmarks in Seville) is across the street and beautiful for a morning walk or to escape the heat.

The hotel is beautiful, with the rooms well designed. The bathroom is very modern and cleverly sectioned off. A lot of thought and detail has gone into this. I was so impressed I became a member of Melia for free, which gives you the added benefit of free wifi and other little benefits.

The bar and restaurant is very nice although we never ate there. It didn't seem too expensive.

But the Spa was the highlight! Amazing offers! €30 for a 90 minute circuit in the thermal pools and then a 30 mins massage! Incredible!

Can't speak highly enough of it. And purely based on my experience there, I am booked in to go to the Melia Hotel in Tarifa =)

Room Tip: Facing out on to the Plaza De España is a must!

The Melia Sevilla exceeded expectations on all fronts. The hotel staff and service were exceptional... they really couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast is a MUST as the selection was vast. It is an extremely modern "trendy" interior (don't be put off by the exterior as you approach it, 70's building but the internal decor definitely makes up for it). The Pool is a great size and due to the awesome Seville weather (it is sunny / hot until 8pm at least)... it is most welcome. Most other hotels just have a small plunge pool ! Hotel is very close to the fabulous Plaza de Espana and just a 10 minute walk in to the centre of Seville for the main attractions.... if you want to be lazy, you can hop on a tram but the walk is glorious and of course, you can stop off at many of the bars for a Sangria on the way. We would definitely return to Seville .... Barca & Madrid are 2nd & 3rd on our Spanish list from hereonin. It is steeped in history, it's wonderful.... and the Melia Sevilla was a splendid surprise !

Room Tip: Defintely book a "room with a view" as you have a super view of the Plaza de Espana...

This is my second time at the Sevilla and I was disappointed with the standard room we had. The bathroom was very badly designed - the sliding door (oh yes) was about 2 ft from the bed and this led into a corridor-like bathroom with two washbasins (unnecessary) and then into the loo and bath with a shower over AND a separate shower cubicle. There is a glass door with an opaque banel in front of the loo but does nothing for your dignity really. The shower cubicle leaked all over the bathroom floor when it was used so we only used it once.

The first stay here we had a deluxe room which was so much better than the standard room.

The breakfast is fantastic and only the Melia Lebreros is better. Not eaten in the restaurant as this seemed a little sterile. There is a roof-top pool with good sunbeds around it. The towels are free to use and really big. The pool was lovely and refreshing as it was very hot while we were visiting in May 2012. Had lunch at the pool bar twice and it was very nice and reasonably priced.

It's an ideal base for going into town as you can walk around the corner and get a tram for 1.30 euros into the centre. It's not far to the centre and takes about 15-20 mins to walk but when the temperature is over 30 degrees and it's only 10 am in the morning the cool interior of the trams is very welcome.

Seville is one of my favorite places - it's lovely and well worth spending a weekend there.

There are a few good value restaurants very near the hotel which are great if you don't want to go far.

We've stayed at the Melia Lebreros and the Sevilla Centre previously but we are reliably informed that the Sevilla is the best (by the Spanish). the Sevilla Centre is a really nice hotel but the staff were terrible. The Lebreros is nice and the breakfast is to die for but overall we find the Melia Sevilla the best option.

Room Tip: Go for a deluxe room if you can afford it

Stayed for two nights. The check in desk needs some training as there were 4+ staff milling around with only one person dealing with customers. But, they were friendly and helpful with proving info about for wifi in the lobby. As with many other hotels, it is a shame they want to charge an extortionate fee for in-room Internet access... But we were here to see the city so it wasn't a big deal. The hotel has had extensive refurbishment internally and looks great. Unfortunately peeling paint on the outside makes the hotel look shabby. One of the best features is its swimming pool and sun loungers. With free towels available from the bar, it is a superb area with a pleasing vantage of historic buildings. Our highlight was breakfast: top marks for an extensive spread of hot and cold delights! Staff were very attentive. The room itself was compact bit well designed. I would be happy to stay there again, but it is a bit of a hike to the historic centre and in 40C heat we ended up splurging on taxis.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights last week as part of our tour os Spain. It was easily the nicest of the stay. The room was nice and the bed comfortable by european standards.
The location was also good as it was only a short walk to the old city. Breakfast and supper were buffet style and quite enjoyable. Nice selecton of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Location is good, less than 10 m of walking to old city. Overall impression was that some things looked a bit worn and room cleaning was not top. But I'm being a little picky since it still was ok+.. Didn't have any breakfast..

My daughter and I stayed for 3 nights in late May.It was a 25 euro cab ride from the airport. We found a good little grocery store just a block or so down the street where we could buy soft drinks and snacks. Breakfast was not included in our stay. There isn't much of interest in the immediate area except the Plaza D'Espagna across the street, which was pretty to look at. We found the room quite modern in decor, and fairly masculine. The air conditioning didn't work very well, so we had trouble sleeping because we were so hot at night. The staff were very nice, and helpful, and spoke pretty good English. We had a stocked minibar.
Room service will bring you ice if you request it, and it came quite quickly. The pool is nice, but they could use more umbrellas, as people get pretty aggressive trying to find shade in the hot sun. The poolside bar sells beer for the same price as a bottle of water (2 euro), but you can get a glass of ice water for free if you ask. There are three computers in the lobby with free service, and we could usually get on without a wait. There is no free wifi in the rooms.
The bathtub was not super clean, but passable.

Room Tip: We could hear the chirping sound from the pedestrian crosswalk signal throughout the night. We were...
